I did the exact same thing. I bought two rights. Yes you have to drill holes and you may also need to grind excess weld off the divider for it to slide in smoothly.

1) I havent noticed so I can comment
2) seems normal for me in cold weather starts. Anything before 50*F and its a rough idle for a minute or two then its perfectly fine.

Is it normal to have the air snorkel whistle when driving between 50-55? it only does it in that speed range and stops as soon as you take your foot of the accelerator....

I looked at the Plan B doors. They are light because they are all aluminum which is nice but I am not a fan of the windows. Being only 1/4 inch thick is a slight concern for me as well. Also they dont seem to seal right but ive heard the with the x doors as mentioned above.
I use the steering wheel lock and keyed ignition and have never had an issue. If anything people seem to just look at it from afar and for whatever reason keep their distances from it.
