Howdy Bob, I am planning to be there at least for Saturday, don't know what I'll be driving yet. Also wanted to say thank you for bringing your M886 to Grayling Riverfest.
Howdy Bob, great to hear you will be able to join us on Saturday, look forward to seeing you.
Interesting TedG, did not know about the event in Eaton Rapids on Sunday. I will not be able to make it, the MMMT is having their board meeting Sunday morning in Frederic. Hope the event goes well for...
Sorry you will not be able to make the Grayling Riverfest this weekend, should be a good time. Look forward to seeing you and your trucks at Clare though, have fun.
Lots of stuff happening here in the Great Lakes State yet this season, thought I would put up a reminder post. Don't have a list of them all handy, but here is the events which the MMMT is officially participating in. Feel free to chime in with whatever I've forgotten.
July 26 - AuSable...
Ha, that's a great idea Lane, had not thought about a fairgrounds. Why not the Otsego County Fairgrounds? They hold snowmobile drags there during the winter so they must be operational year 'round. Would recommend the Crawford county farigrounds but they lease their buildings for storage in...
I try to make as many events as possible each year, so whenever you plan to have one... As for a place this spring, what about General Jim's in Clare, the room where we have meals is pretty good size. Or just about any VFW hall would probably work.
Not trying to put a damper on your enthusiasm at all Lane, would like to see the events get bigger up here so more folks could enjoy them and don't want you to burn yourself out too fast. Organizing an event can be a lot of work, especially a start up, I want you to succeed and would be willing...
Piggy-Back?
Lane, if you want to organize a swap meet area for the Camp Grayling event I'm sure there would not be much resistance. The only downside would be requiring attendees to join either GLMVPA or MMMT for insurance reasons, but insurance is going to be an issue with most any venue...
Show Dates...
At the last MMMT meeting in Grayling, we went through the 2008 event dates and here is what I copied down. Some of these are dedicated MV events, others are vehicle displays in conjunction with other events.
April 25-27 Fort Custer Trail Ride
May 17 Great Lakes Hobby
May...
A Couple More Images From The Grayling Colo Tour - One of them is from the quilters, these ladies get together to do some quilting every year while we play with the trucks, have not heard to count this year but last year they created 9 quilts which were donated to wounded vets at Walter Reed...
Well, if all goes as planned I should be able to make Hillman this year. Am supposed to be working in Alpena on Friday then stop in Hillman afterward to help out and stay for the weekend. Can certainly understand the value of everyone's time, can't really afford to be there timewise, but the...
Very Good Turnout...
There was a very good turnout for the Grayling Riverfest last Saturday and I want everyone to know that MMMT is very thankful for their support. There were fifteen vehicles on display and a lot of people came through to view them and learn about our hobby. We had...
BTT
Just thought I would bump this thread back up to the top as a reminder that Riverfest is this weekend. The weatherman is predicting a very nice weekend at this point, not too warm, very slight chance of rain on Saturday. Might be able to find some camping space at my place about 15 miles...
CCATLETT1984 - i do not set up the date for most events, the canoe marathon has been going on for nearly 60 years do their date is pretty well set. Sorry you have such a problem making so many events, would like to see you at a few more. Maybe I'll have to harass you in the Shores again, ran...
The Michigan Museum of Military Transport is seeking military vehicles for a public display July 28 in Grayling MI. This is a great event for the whole family as there is an arts & crafts show, car show and other historic attractions happening at the same time within a couple blocks of each...
Figured it had to be someone either in Great Lakes, MMMT or on here, maybe all three, to have a duece and a CUCV. Hopefully we will see you at some of the Michigan MV events this summer.
Was That You?
Ojsdna744- Was that you towing the small mobile home up I-75 a few weeks ago while being followed by the CUCV Blazer? I passed such a rig just pulling into the rest area North of Bay City on my way north to a Michigan Museum Of Military Transport Meeting in Grayling.
Do You Know?
Are you a member of the GLMVPA Yahoo group? The guy from YAF who spearheaded the organization of last years Thunder Over Michigan event for the vehicle guys and reinactors is the guy who is leading the restoration of the SnoGo there. He is also a regular poster at the GLMVPA group.
Have Never Seen A Manual For Them...
I have an M116 chassis manual, but have never seen a manual for the pioneer version specifically. In the back of the trailer was usually a 3K generator according to what I was told. There are some id tags still fastened in several places in mine, but doubt...
