Circumstances beyond my control have entered my life. I do not want to go into detail as the situations are deeply personal. It is with a heavy and hurting heart that I must make difficult decisions, and something must go.
I have decided to dissolve my Central Florida Events Mailing List. I...
Update:
I placed the following order on http://remybattery.com/ this afternoon:
2/0 Gauge 90 Degree Copper Tube Lug 3/8" hole. Ordered 6 at $2.14 each.
2/0 Gauge 45 Degree Copper Tube Lug 3/8" hole. Ordered 6 at $2.14 each.
Military Terminal Protector Covers: 2 black and 2 red at $2.30...
I talked to cucvrus a couple days ago. That guy is a world of knowledge and is very helpful!! I asked his advice about battery cable size. He suggested that I buy 2/0 AWG wire. 3/0 is too hard to work with and 4/0 is expensive overkill.
I started a ‘might as well list’. I might as well go...
I attended a local MV rally last month. My M1009 had no problem starting and getting me to the event, which was 40 miles from home. At lunch I wanted to move it under a tree for some shade. It didn’t want to start. :-( Quadjeeper used his Polaris to pull my truck close to Rayzer’s Taj for some...
I talked to Doc last night. Here's the latest to-do list:
- Install the brake drums, bleed the brakes, and figure out why the pedal is so low to the floor. The master cylinder has been rebuilt twice. Ugh. aua
- Rebuild the carburetor. Again. For the 6th or 7th time. I've lost track. It's still...
The hard cab has value, at least it does to me. I hereby modify my earlier evaluation. Try to knock the price down to $500. If you're successful, load that sucker up on a trailer and haul it home!!
Walk away. That jeep has been hacked up far too badly. What scares me isn't what you can see - it's what you can't. I bet the entire wiring harness has been butchered and needs to be replaced. Brakes, brake lines, master cylinder, fuel tank, the list goes on and on.
I (thankfully) took the recommendations of my Goodyear tire representative many years ago. I bought a set of Duratracs for my M1009. The tires have amazing wet and dry traction. I can't speak for ice and snow traction due to my location (Orlando). I routinely drive through flooded streets during...
My 2cents + tax: walk away. Don't waste your time, effort, or energy trying to rescue a green machine from a scrapper. Doing so is like trying to pry a tasty bone away from a rabid dog. Save up your pennies for a nice truck that won't burn a hole in your wallet.
I believe it's better to buy a...
Thanks for posting the FL statutes, jabayer. I often see vehicles running with their flashers on. I was eastbound on I-4 Saturday night, southwest of Orlando. I saw a dually hauling a fifth wheel flatbed car hauler at 50 MPH in a 70 MPH zone. The flashers were on. I heard myself say out loud...
I bought the front wiring harness for my wife's M422 Mighty Mite from Vintage Wiring of Maine. It was absolutely PERFECT! If I ever need another harness, I'm calling them before taking on the task of building my own. Hope that helps :-)
She asked if she'll have the Mite for Memorial Day. I was afraid to answer her at first, fearing Murphy would rear his ugly head and create EVEN MORE problems. I skirted the question. The more time I can spend wrenching on it, the sooner we will bring her home.
