Hi Everyone. I did replace the glow plugs with AC 60 glow plugs and replaced the fuel filter. Same problem. I'm wondering if I'm not getting the fast idle set right? I am now turning the key on then I'm pushing the accelerator all the way down then releasing. Same exact problem. It starts for a...
OK I'm replacing the glow plugs this Saturday. Replacing the fuel filter also.
I hold the pedal to the floor when it's cold outside and half way when its warmer outside.
After I've driven it and it's warm I don't touch the throttle and it starts just fine if it doesn't sit for more than a few...
Sounds like mine has the same problem. I took the cover panel off and found a lever/guide was catching on the piece holding the glass at the bottom of the glass. Tried to bend it back in and only kinda helped. I have a new regulator but didn't know how to replace it. Anybody know of a youtube...
Hi All you Mechanic Guru's. I have a starting problem on my 1986 6.2L. If it were a gas engine I'd think it was a carburetor choke high idle problem. But have no clue on my diesel. It used to start almost immediately even at 0 degrees. Both batteries are fairly new.
I turn the key half way...
Well replaced with a new switch. It was working a little better but still intermittently stopped. I can see a little of the top pin on the wire harness tarnished . I've cleaned it best I could then used a wire tie to another part of the harness ad looks to be working every time now. We'll how...
Thanks part is ordered and will be here tomorrow. I have the bezel pulled and the whole fan switch is kinda out. Maybe after I get the part I'll get a better idea how to replace it.
Found a new piece of information. The fuse wherever it is is fine. If I move the back side of the switch the fan motor runs. So I'm assuming I need a new switch?
Would someplace like NAPA carry it?
Any idea on the original P/N?
Last how do you get the back part of the switch off?
Hi All,
My fan motor switch has stopped working. It started out slowly not working and if I'd move it up and down it would start working. Now it has completely stopped. I have the dash pulled apart and cleaned all the connections but that didn't help. Then I thought duh maybe the fuse is blown...
Thanks Does it mater which way mounting rails run? Parallel to the truck or perpendicular?
I'm looking at these. Vantech M1009B M1000 Series Pickup Rack System on Ebay but the are $169.20
found out the left bracket is to close to the slide when taking it down. Not sure how to fix it but for now if I pull the window back towards me it goes down ok
Hi I know this is a old thread. Was wondering if anyone had any leaks or stress fractures in the fiberglass?
I'm looking to do same thing on my 1986 M1009.
Hi All my rear window was cranking down a little hard sometime for awhile and I just wiggled the glass and it cranked down ok. Not it just stops half way. Any thoughts on how to fix?
Can I open the tailgate with window half way down to look inside?
Saw this on Ebay and thinking about getting it. Vantech M1009B M1000 Series Pickup Rack System
Anyone have any problems mounting a rack on a M1009?
Is the truck cap sturdy enough?
Anyone have recommendations on a Rack or any pictures?
OK wanted to know how many have driven a stock M1009 through water. How deep were you in and did you do anything afterwards?
I've gone through about 24 inches of water and no issues.
