Glow Plug wiring idea. Comments please

Good idea. I am not familiar with Anderson switches. Can you suggest a particular one? I was thinking of putting some kind of non conducting cover over it but I like your idea better. I was going to mount the switch on the firewall near the relay. Thanks for the input.

Glow Plug wiring idea. Comments please

I have an M1008 as well as two other MVs so I want to be able to jump my other MVs with my CUCV and visa versa. I also like the idea of feeding my glow plugs from the 12 volt bus to avoid possible problems with cascade. My idea is to use a single pole double throw knife switch to switch...

    Glow plus solenoid....help please!!

If you have been driving around with the relay on, you had better check your glow plugs to make sure you haven't fried any of them. Once a couple of them go bad the rest will follow suit.

Metal Magnets's M211 teardown and future rebuild.

I am still not sure as to the proper nomenclature of the transmission but here is a pic I took when trying to figure out the pto. I would appreciate any clues from you folks.

    Airpak in a box

Hi henderson, could you please go into a bit more detail. When I got my XM211 running I think I may have used an M35 airpack, but I didn't modify the master cylinder. So far it seems to work ok, but it hasn't been used a lot. Thanks!

Metal Magnets's M211 teardown and future rebuild.

It's possible they did the same thing they did to my XM211. I found some old pics of my transmission I'll attach. They incorporated a clutch lever using brake parts.

M1009 converted to small pickup (The Mule M1009) very handy little vehicle

18-8 Stainless Steel Domed Head Sealing Blind Rivets These rivets have good corrosion resistance. Also known as closed-end sealing rivets, they prevent water and air from passing through or around them. Use them to join materials together when you don't have access to both sides. The low-profile...

M1009 converted to small pickup (The Mule M1009) very handy little vehicle

Thanks again for your help! The only problem is that this is on the outside of the body right at the bottom corner rear of the passenger side and a few inches up from that location. I was thinking of using the pop rivets that are sealed at the end if that helps. Is my patch prep a good idea?

M1009 converted to small pickup (The Mule M1009) very handy little vehicle

Thanks! I am assuming that the edge of the body metal is bent down to form a ledge for the patch piece to lay on top. And also the same for the patch piece so that the patch ledge lays on top of the body ledge. Then holes are drilled for the rivets. A little filler is pasted on the mating...

M1009 converted to small pickup (The Mule M1009) very handy little vehicle

From post#17 " I used the 3/16" HD steel rivets and riveted it over the cut out and prepped hole" Are these pop rivets or old style rivets? I need to patch over two holes that are on the rear passenger side lower corner of the M1008 body. One hole is less than an inch from the actual bottom...

standards for dual cartridge epoxy systems?

Is any one familiar with these epoxy systems? I bought a bunch of stuff a while back from a contractor who was going out of business. One of the items was a hand held dual cartridge gun used with the Simpson epoxy system for imbeding rebar and threaded rod into existing concrete. My question is...

Ignition switch (actual switch not cylinder) wiring...

Unplug the relay and see if the 24v is still in the ignition switch. Then measure the voltages at each of the socket pins. You should only see 24 volts on one pin and 12volts on another when the ignition is switched to start. Those relays are crap, so I suspect that you have a short inside the...

TOBASH It would be great if you imported all the pics into the thread. This way people in the future will be able to see them instead of getting bad links. I thought your post was really helpfull.

M1009 no wait light, no GEN 2 light, no volts.

avlon01, since someoldmoose was nice enough to correct the link for the GM manual to the 6.2l version, you should download that as well. Post #5 Good luck!

M1009 no wait light, no GEN 2 light, no volts.

I guess I am confused. The book you are refering to is for a 6.5 turbo diesel. That can not be the same book as for the 6.2l engine in the M1009. I am not trying to give you a hard time and I know you are trying to help the OP, but could you please explain. Thanks!
