I never saw the need for air assist steering any of the M35s I have owned. As long as you are rolling they steer pretty easy, also I make it a point to never crank the wheel unless I am rolling on all of my vehicles.
Thanks...Let me know what you want pics and measurements of and I will PM them to you. I would like to see detailed pics of the tool box and spare mount when you get a chance.
FWIW - If there is any way you can hang on to your M59, I would encourage you to do so, even if you cannot start the restoration until few years down the road. I do not plan on starting the restoration of my newly acquired beauty until next spring.
Here are some more pictures of the M47....It also has a dual output PTO and the control valve for fording kit on the air cleaner canister
About the only things I may change from original are to install an air shift transfer case and put a winch on the front end.
hndrsonj - Thanks for the info on the spare tire rack. Weather permitting, I will post more pics tomorrow and I will definitely include one of the data plate.
When I sold my 86 M35A2C three weeks ago I had no idea I would be replacing it so soon.
Anyway, I have always wanted a 2.5 ton dump and when this beauty showed up on craigslist I just had to buy it.
It is a 1951 REO M47 that runs, but need a complete restoration. I figure it will be a 5 year...
