+1, I chose the valvoline 80w-90 only because its probably a little better than the store brand.

    HMMWV brake pads

I'm in need of some guidance on what pads to buy for my m998. I have new rotors but there seems to be about a million different pads out there and I want to make sure to get the right ones. At first I was just going to go with some h1 pads but then I was reading that they don't last as long as...

free :) I think x doors go for about $2000+ for a set of four, so maybe below that.

    Judging Interest in X-Doors? Features?

Aluminum, safety glass, hand crank. I don't see these being anywhere near reasonable on cost though.

So you got your new HUMVEE home. Now What

I'd also put in there to check the harmonic damper. Mine was bad when I picked the truck up and probably wouldn't have found it if my dad hadn't said something. A bad damper can kill an engine.

    What is this bracket?

Looks like the bracket that goes under the floor. The two holes on each end are for the radio shelf feet I believe.

    Knuckle and gear cover

I'd probably be in for some depending on price. One of my rear ones is getting pretty gnarly. I know some company makes aluminum ones that are a lot thicker with view glasses but they were $$$

Checking out a 1986 M998 in northern Italy. Pix posted

The tail light thing might be because in some euro countries you need a yellow light as a blinker, which the hmmwv doesn't have.

What Is The WIDTH Outside Tire to Outside Tire of a HMMWV??

I have a mechanical oil pressure gauge in my m998 with the 6.2. I get about 30psi idle that goes down to 25 if I stop right after driving on the highway and the oil is hotter.

    HMMWV acquisition and rebuild

Thats why I like my truck, if I'm ever bored there is always something broken to fix..... keeps me out of trouble. Our trucks could almost be twins.

    HMMWV accessories/mods?

From what I've seen they are around $100 and you have to drill the hole where the start/run switch is a little larger to fit the keyed part. Really I don't see it as much security since you can just reach under the dash and easily access the wires, a kill switch in a hidden place seems a much...
