Yes dear, or a battery equalizer :D That way you could continuously draw both 12V and 24V and NOT have an imbalance of battery draw, and both batteries could be charged equally with 28V supply. Goodnight!
Heath, you could try that but you'd end up with burned wires and smoke. You can parallel 2 batteries OR you can have them in series. You CANNOT have them wired both at once without some circuits YOU nor I will not be able to build or design. No offense Dude, but if you ask this question you...
Tow4,
As long as I don't have to fly a Bell 47 (I trained in those in 1986 in Daytona) or a Robinson R22 (recurrent training) I'd be happier. Flying a wood bladed B47 after a thunderstorm made me leery. It was shuffling around pretty good on the skids, 4-5 minutes of spin dry (no collective)...
Tow4, as I suspected, that was why I was once looking for one that was already airworthy, albeit in a restricted catagory. Even though I could afford the helicopter at the time, I suspect I'd be in the poorhouse from maintenance, even with an A&P in my pocket. Parts are expensive, and good...
The varying prices with FLYABLE helicopters is the time remaining on components. Nearly EVERYTHING is time limited and has to be either rebuilt or replaced. I've seen helicopters that were extremely cheap, but under further inspection nearly every component was timed out.
Since there are no...
So correct me if I'm wrong here Dan, the only worry here is if you have a failure of the generator neutral to house neutral connection. Since I would assume most would be using a 4 conductor cable between the generator and home panel, wouldn't the neutral and ground connections offer a bit of...
GM stopped offering a warranty to AM General on the 350 gasoline engine in the Hummer, truck was too heavy (so said GM) and AM General stopped offering it. They were a total fuel pig and prone to breakage. (Hummer owner since March 1993)
Exactly Bjorn, it is indeed best to disconnect before starting. They won't assist in starting anyway. I haven't had a Chergetek fail yet but that is after I learned my lesson with my all time favorite charger: Interacter PS 24 Volt 8 Amp
I blew a fuse a few times but it looks like the latest...
I use a Chargetek CT500-1 in the Scorpion and Fox, the Ferret just gets dead batteries. You never need to disconnect this charger and it maintains each battery separately.
I see, sorta. A HEMTT is not a cabover by the way, the engine is fully behind the cab and drives nothing like a cabover. The easiest is just to add a crane to a 5-ton as so many have done here.
Please forgive me Leonard but I gotta share the custom battery box photos.
He managed to use the...
I don't understand, are you gonna build a HEMTT if you can't buy one or are you going to build a custom 2 axle "Baby"? Unless you're VERY good, the forward control steering will end your project early. I'm serious, the number of steering/gear boxes, and the geometry to get it to work properly...
If you want it permanently mounted, waterproof and to charge each battery seperately I recommend these, I've used them for years on various 24V military vehicles:
CT500: Industrial / Waterproof Medium Amp Single & Isolated Dual Bank Series - Chargetek, Battery Charger Manufacturer CA, Battery...
Thanks RGS but those links are to the thumbnails, not the pictures. How about a link to your folder in which they reside? I haven't seen "Baby" for about 18 months and Leonard himself in 6 months. He stopped by the Tower Park MV Meet to chat.
We only have an acre, which is a large lot for our neighborhood, but TINY for the toys we have. All the toys but 4 of the Stalwarts live inside the garage. If we didn't have kids in a school we adore, we'd move eastward. We'd like to get out of this state where we could be amongst people with...
Nice one Mods., leave the snarky comment from the thieving one!
If you're going to edit and redact comments, be constant and thorough. That includes this one of course.
Enough people feel that way that it is MOSTLY true. To some it is something to play with until they find the next best toy. NOT in my case, it was the dream truck I was sure I could never have. There is currently NOTHING I want more than my truck that could be had for 6x the market price of...
