    Where to find a HEMTT

:funny: Yeah, that should work . . . with a company you have to know someone, just to purchase parts from.

    Where to find a HEMTT

Er . . . I'm not gonna post my address here but I live on West Lake Sammamish. I don't have land to play on, I used to take my amphibians out on the lake though. My toys are used on the street only now, with the exception of the grass at the Arlington Airshow.

    Where to find a HEMTT

Actually, I think the last one on Armyjeeps.net was quite a bit higher than that (I think it started at $85-90,000 and went down over time) but it is being cut up and turned to a motorhome-expedition vehicle. David there gave me a appraisal for mine for the insurance company. If you...

I let my GF drive my deuce.....

I'm all for girls and guns but it is a little short in the MV department. That said, be careful! I let my wife drive the HEMTT :cookoo: and now she drives it more than I do.

12 Volt Power - Deuce with 3 or 4 batteries

Jim, Please consider charging each battery independently (no need to disconnect cables) every 3-4 months with a 12V charger you trust. It will go a LONG way keeping the batteries balanced. Once imbalanced, your charger and alternator will kill them both. 2cents

Headlight Switch, Push Button, up grade

I love the switches but they have some faults. The earlier ones were prone to failure, but from what I've heard so could the later units. Some have caused fires! In order to limit the current that they may be switching, some have tried relays on the outputs. There is a problem even with...

12 Volt Power - Deuce with 3 or 4 batteries

My first Optima I bought was in 1993 for a Ferrari Testarossa I was using daily. As long as I was driving it daily, it did fine, once it started sitting a week or two at a time it failed within 6 months (internal short). I walked away from them for about 15 years and came back thinking they...

12 Volt Power - Deuce with 3 or 4 batteries

PS, I hope you have better luck with the "Yellow Tops" than I did! Mine made it less than a year before one puked in the HEMTT. I went with some Group 31 Marine batteries from Costco, never a problem. I've never had a Optima last, I hope yours do. I've had a total of 7 so far . . . 6 in...

    M211

DO follow those guidelines! Put non-detergent 30 motor oil in it, as one collector told everyone to do years ago, and you'll have a junk transmission in no time at all. 2cents My favorite Deuce, bar none!

    new M656 owner second impressions

Doesn't make any sense unless he just had a heart attack or stroke. He just finished his new building on his Blane property some months AFTER purchasing the 656. And he was in the process of moving up to Blane as he was retiring from his job in Seattle. If you do the HEMTT + S-280, don't plan...

    new M656 owner second impressions

Bruce and Bjorn, Something BAD has happened to Brad, that much is certain but I hope they guy is at least alive and in good health. Jane and I only met him 3 times but he seemed like a REALLY nice guy. He was retiring to Blane from Seattle and he wasnt really very old, middle, perhaps late...

    new M656 owner second impressions

This truck sold today at auction for $8000. We don't know what happened to Sangamon but we hope he's at least OK. His two Unimogs were in the same auction :-(

    hho injection?

:ditto: On a gasoline engine you CANNOT safely decrease the fuel flow for a given mass air flow beyond a certain point. Computer controled EFI systems already run about as lean as safely possible, some use fuel cooling enrichment for full throttle (especially forced induction) but fuel flow is...

2011 Wa State Mini Rally #5

Thank you for the kind offer! Two nights ago I got a call from a local guy that seemed interested in it, and suspected I was the prior owner. I'm not going to go bid against someone who seemed so friendly and interested in the truck. I don't need it, I just don't want it to be scrapped or...

    12V Computer speakers in CUCV?

Not to clog up the discussion too much but audio amplifiers actually run on DC voltage. The transformer gives you the stepped down AC but the AC is often rectified into DC inside the device, and then used by the amplifier, rather than in the transformer unit itself. Just sayin' . . .

Can a deuce be driven as a front wheel drive?

I can't think of any problems provided the front hubs are in good shape and you are going to treat it gently.

2011 Wa State Mini Rally #5

He's not, or it's VERY unlikely! Auction is not the way to sell these vehicles. He's either dead, ill, or has had his possessions repossesed or impounded. If Jane weren't so ill, I'd probably be snagging the 656 back. I've never had such interest in a vehicle, still get e-mails 3 years...
