    GM 2.5 ton axles

The picture looks like a front axle under a GMC M211 series 2.5 ton truck. The differential ratio is 6.17 to 1. I am fairly new to these trucks as I just got mine in July. However, I think they would be tough enough for a rock crawler or mud bog rig (I assume you are starting with a 5/4 ton...

    What it is your m105?

Glad I am not alone! I am at about 6 feet from a 47 inch LCD in order to get it focused. My arms started getting too short about 18 years ago when I hit 53. ~~ I am looking to install a gen-set in one of our M105's to provide power or our M220. The rest of the M101's and M105's are being used to...

    Tow Bar Questions, input needed

I must say that is a really nice job of making pins. ~~ I bought a pile o'towbars from GL and I too need some parts to make every thing complete. My pile only had feet with 3/4 inch pins and not enough pins for the feet I got and not enough pins for the tow bar assemblies. So far I have set one...

    M105A2 trailer box

I know of a lot of 3 at Fort Riley, Kansas that sold for something like $500 plus all the fees. I also saw a lot of 3 in Georgia that looked really rusty and they were at minimum bid to the end of the auction. I did not have a bid on those, so I don't know the final sale amount, but I assume it...

    M211...custom??

The medium tow bar seems to use several different feet depending on what you are towing. I recently bought a pile O'towbars from GL and all the mediums came with 3/4 inch pin feet. There are 1 inch pin feet and then I have seen a foot that has a 1 inch pin on one side and 3/4 inch on the other...

    M76 Otter pics and information

Thanks for the info ~ sorry about the downer ~ Jack was quite a guy. Back to Otters - Way back in the late 60's I passed on one for $2500 at George Epcar's on Brighton Bvd. in Denver. He had a Sherman with the cannon cut off in the middle. He wanted $1500 for that one. I anguished over...

    M332 Parts

I think my son wants to put a hot tub in one so he relax after a hard day at hunting camp. I have been wondering if some of the deuce bobbers could use this trailer rather than an M105 to remake the rear single suspension? (i.e. the latest Hundy conversion). They are cheap to buy and every one...

    M76 Otter pics and information

Does anyone know what has become of Jack Tomlin's stuff since he passed away? He had boxcars and containers full of neat and esoteric stuff not to mention his firearms collection.

found a m37 dont know nothing aout them but you guys do

First, your avitar shows a really cool conversion. Neat looking rig. I see your running boards are nice and straight. Somehow I keep rolling mne up on the rocks. Second, I never said I was not at the ragged edge of my trucks abilities. I too have heard the short side no flex versus long side...

found a m37 dont know nothing aout them but you guys do

I am that old man that has had his M37 all over the Colorado Rockies since 1963 and I have snapped my share of axles. I got fairly skilled at coming home in front wheel drive. The M37 is a great truck that could climb a telephone pole if you could figure out how to hold it to the pole. I have...

    What to offer on M37?

Try going by with 5 crisp Benjamin's to make an inquiry as to what he wants to do with the truck. The sight of money makes the offer more real and immediate. I could go on about what I paid for my first M37 ($300) and it ran, and it had troop seats, and a soft top cab frame, and a bent drive...

    Extreme Trucking

I leave the discussion of "game taken" to my son. We plan on being there Friday with the appropriate butt support. Even the video does not show how difficult some of the trail really is. Last year someone went about 1000 ft. free fall in a jeep. Winter before a couple of snowmobiles took the...

When I disconnect my battery, ouput voltage increases.

Having to rev the engine is something that occurs because the output voltage is not high enough to close or activate the charging circuit at lower rpms. This is more common on the old style coil regulator systems. ~~~ Could it be that your converted 12v alternator has the wrong size pulley? I...

When I disconnect my battery, ouput voltage increases.

I agree the place to look is at the triode. If the battery is draining while off for short periods, one of the diodes may be leaking back excessively. While 13.9 volts may seem enough, it should be more on the order of 14.3 to 14.8 with the battery connected and charging to replace what was used...

    M37 Passenger Seat Back?

I don't recognize it either. Too thin and too square and mounted differently from any of my M37's. Sorry, knowing what its not does not answer your question of what it does fit.

    Water pump on M101 Trailer

A late reply to an old thread, but the trailers look like early modified M101's with 609C pumps used for fire fighting.

    M101, a1, a2, a3

All good advice in MHO. My old M101 is rated at 3/4 ton cross country, one ton highway. I have hauled slightly more than a ton many times and there was no real difference in ride between that and a 3/4 ton load. Once I hauled 3 tons of gravel a short distance from the pit to my home. The springs...
