    axle snubber

Mine was removed by the guy I bought it from also. I have it and may put it back in if I have cured my starter woes. Good question. I might not if it can be left off.

Any other green steel dealers in central FL?

I don't know of any that are "shady" per say. You don't mean Bradenton do you? All the guys I know are honest and active in our circle of MV enthusiasts.

M1009 TH400 Acting like a High Stall converter after rebuild.

Low pump pressure. Put a gauge on it. From the TM9-2320-34, page 5-52..... "Remove pressure tap plug (3) located on left side of transmission between downshift switch connector (2) and manual linkage....." Get a gauge on it, 200 psi. It should read like this..... A., Brakes applied; “N”...

Wire rings on Boots, How Tight do they need to be?

Yes you can. I just did the boots on mine. I was sitting on the ground in front of the passenger front tire putting the brake line on when for no good reason I reached out and pushed on the boot. To my surprise I heard air whistling! I removed the shield and found that when I tightened...

Changing the belts on my deuce

You will have fun getting the new belt on if you by one by mail. It will come in a very small loop and will not stay extended enough to get to the tapered part of the pulley. Ask me how I know. Do yourself a favor and get the one from Napa, 25-9510. It will come extended in a sleeve and will...

    Broken start bolt

I just replaced the flywheel this weekend with a NOS from Saturn. The original had only been in there since 08. On the fifth start it ground. It had no shims. Went to Auto Zone and got shims. Added one 1mm and it still ground. Added the other 1mm from the pack and so for so good. Shims is...

    Starter headache

Since it is a gear reduction starter never hit it with a hammer! Most have ceramic magnets that will be destroyed by hammer blows. I am replacing my flexplate because it too had missing teeth. I blame the poor gear bevel on the aftermarket flexplate which was installed in 2008. Go with an OEM...

    Starter headache

You really just have a slipping Bendix. The gear has engaged the flywheel but slips in it's clutch. If the starter motor spins the solenoid is doing it's job. The Bendix is a overrunning clutch and can wear and not hold all of the time. I just saw one for sale in a popular auction website for...
