There is a truck in delta for $1500 that might be a better truck for you. look on craigslist if you are interested. A guy on the forums here has it for sale.
I saw that and I was hoping they were going to start selling deuces again. But nope that is a 800 series 5 ton cargo truck. An 813. I don't think they ran out of deuces to sell. I have seen ones in other GL lots.
the 318 and the 360 are balanced differently. YOu will find the flex plate is part of the converter for the transmission. So you will need to use the convertor for the 360. Otherwise the bolt pattern on the bck of the block is the same as is most of your other brackets. It will fit no problem.
I have two good engines here in PA one is an LDT with a d turbo and the other is a LD naturally asperated. LEt me know if you are interested. Both engines will start and run, both are still in the trucks. The LDT is still driveable.
just running the lines. You can just have a simple transfer pump to move fuel from you aux tank to your main tank. That is probably the simplest way. Or you could find the setups like on the M818 tractors. this includes a selector switch that is turned on with tank to pull and return fuel...
Some guys are making them out of HEMITT rims. there are some in the classifieds section.
I have some unmodified rims in PA for $75 but they are the 10 lug for the 5 tons not eh 6 lug for the deuce.
one nice thing about a deuce is you can park on a hill and start under compression. no electronics required at all. Yes they will run without a lift pump. ask westfolk about that one.
I have a deuce for sale and an extra cab. I am in PA. I would like to get $2500 for the cab and the truck. Let me know if you are interested and we can talk.
