I want to hook up one or two seperate sets
( 2x12v) batteries to the slave output on my M54A2 and charge them while I am driving.
One set will be in a large shelter in the bed,
and the other set will be in a small shelter on a trailer.
I am thinking that the regulator will see it as one 24v load...
Munk, the output of the slave connector on your truck is 24 volts DC.
If you connected this to your shelter, you would need to change all the bulbs to 24 volts DC
which would be difficult at best . Then you would only be able to use devices that
operated on 24 volts DC in the shelter.
There is...
This is what butch atkins said when I asked about lug nuts on a M211:
with the issue 30 inch bar and stud/lugnut wrench a200lb man bouncing on it can produce all the torque you will ever need to tighten these nuts, and if you doit yourself you will always be able to change a flat tire if yopu...
Be warry of tire shops. They use the big air impact wrenches and torque the nuts on way too tight. The big rigs
have the nuts put on at really high torques and these guys don't understand about MV's or the fact that we might be changing a flat with hand tools out in the boonies. Don't ask how...
Recovery4x4, supposedly my modified M108/XM211 has a 21 foot hook height.
It looks like they changed out a part of the boom to do this. I am currently in the process of making the hydraulics work. I have some pictures but cant get at them right now. If you are interested, let me know and I'll...
Try doing a preasure imbalance test, but be sure to do the prerequisite
tests first. Takes a littl getting used to but some folks have found them very useful.
Let us know how it goes.

This is what I had assumed from the beginning
but one of the manuals made me double check
as I've stated in the above posts.
Thanks for confirming this Butch!

The lube instructions are just for the actual bearings so they do not reference
the tiny seal that is used for the shaft keyway. If you look in the TM 9-1819AC on page 288 you will see a tiny part labeled 'E' which is 'seal, oil adjusting nut'
I believe this is the same as the cork or RTV...
Hi Mike, I have an M211 and went to put striker tires on it with the
6 bolt rims. The tires hit on a protrussion off the frame so I flipped the wheel and put it on. I am wondering if what I really should do is flip the hub and put the wheel back on normally. Would there be much variation in...
Started to do maintenance on XM211 wheal bearings and seals. After reading the manual
TM 9-1819AC, I don't see anything that talks about packing the bearings with grease.
Does this mean that they are only lubricated with gear oil from the diff's?
Is the "seal, oil adjusting nut", the same as...
