This has been going on for about 3 years now. I am not sure that they all were done by the same guy, but I think the odds are in favor of it. It happened to my neighbor across the street after he had an argument with this guy about parking and he is virtually certain that is who did it. The rest...
I really appreciate that Ron, and I would take someone up on it, but I need to keep it
right next door until I get the crane fully operational, since I need it to move the
roof off of a work shop without damaging it. And this all has to happen right away
since the city is on my case, and they...
One other related thing. Do any of those products that spray stuff in your tires to stop
leaks work at all? Four of the tires will hold air for about a day and a half.
the other two for about 5 hours. These tires are ten years old and I am surprised that they held together as long as they did...
You guys are just great. You give me the perfect solution, and then tell me not to do it.
One of the things I was trying to figure out is how to rig a booby trap that sprayed
some kind of stain that couldn't be washed off, but would show up on any type of skin.
I think that they came out with...
You probably are right seeing as how I am partly crippled from a back injury and I might end up on the losing end of a one on one. Of course I could get really nasty and let my wife
at him. She is so upset about these tires that I don't think she would leave him with any of his extended body...
I just got an email from a friend that said that the 6 bolt rims for the XM211 will accommodate a 12.00-20 tire. Does that sound right? I want to put striker tires on the existing rims if I can.
Are there any other issues with doing this, like clearances?
Thanks,
I think I know who is doing it, but I don't have any proof. He has a long bed car wrecker
and wants to use the parking space in front of my house, since it is on the corner.
I have been thinking of putting a wood skirt around the vehicle.
The silent alarm is a good idea, and now I know what...
Hi All,
I have been having trouble with some nasty person spiking the sidewalls of my tires.
Three times already they have spiked the new tires on my CUCV two at each time.
The last time, they spiked all 6 tires on my XM211/M108 crane truck.
I am doing everything I can to get the hell out of...
Hi All,
I was wondering if anyone had discovered a source for 12.00-20 6 bolt rims?
Do they actually exist? I was thinking about putting striker tires on my XM211/M108
crane truck hybrid, but the Striker tires seem to come on 10 bolt rims.
Can someone shed some light on this for me?
Thanks,
I bought a used takeoff from alpha heaven. see link below.
If someone comes across the info on how to rebuild them, I would be interested.
Whatever you do, do not pull this stupid stunt: I soaked it in carb cleaner preparatory to greasing it up, only to find out that you can't grease them up...
Only the middle section is powered. If that is true with this truck, placing a bar between the middle section and the end section will not do anything except move the end section with the middle. On the M246 and M819, the pipe is placed under the boom and between the outer ridgid section and the...
Thanks Guys,
The ones that I need are the ones in the crane cab on a M108. They are legible.
I had wanted to restore the background paint, but from what you are saying it is not worth the trouble.
I don't suspect you will find any, since these are somewhat scarse. However, if you do find some...
Thank you all for replying!!!
My take on this is that everything other than the decking, and the last two sections of the boom are original M108. The last two sections of the boom do not look all that well made
as in factory production.
The pieces added to the top for manually extending the...
Ok, so I'm not crazy after all...well, maybe a little.
The one thing that the previous owner said was that it had a 21 foot hook height.
He also said that it worked when he parked it, but I took that with a grain of salt.
What is the maximum hook height with a normal M108?
My guess is that...
As some of you may know, I managed to bring an XM211 with an M108 crane body back from the dead. I just received my California Historic Vehicle plates.
I now have to make the crane operational and I am very confused. Acording to the
manual the boom consists of two parts. One is stationary and...
I believe that someone said that the rebuild kit for M35 or the M54 had all the right parts for the M211 except for one seal, but I can't find the email.
Now I am worried, I just got a replacement airpack from alpha heaven for my M211 and it has
the plug in the back. I am wondering if this wasn't an upgrade. Any one know?
