year of manufacture of a M923

The delivery date stamped on the data plate is the date it was delivered to the DOD. Not the date a unit gets it. Some its,s can sit in depots for a long time before getting issued to a unit.

Yes they did, but the only real difference was the addition of dual circuit brakes.

The NSN you need is in the PU Genset TM's, not the M103 TM.

M923 upgrade to M925 need advice

In my time, it was not done. big items like trucks are issued by NSN. Your unit was authorized 5 non winch trucks and 2 winch trucks, being 2 different NSN's. Just because you wanted to have a 3rd truck with a winch, you couldnt just go add the parts. By doing so, it changed the NSN, and...

Keep you eyes open on ebay. The major part is the large plate, and the new pintle backing plate. Everything else is common hardware type stuff.

Just watch out if you ever disconnect the CHU from the arm. They have been known to kill people if they fall.

    Command Post Tent Vehicle Wall

I got mine in today. Looks great, brand new, still in the box like the seller said. I will have to wait to put it up as it is raining outside. With some mods, it will do nicely.

    Command Post Tent Vehicle Wall

This is what a M577 bootwall looks like. I think I will remove the bottom part ( Item 2), as I dont have the M577 to attach it to, and engineer a door or something for it. The boot will make for a very nice "awning".

    Command Post Tent Vehicle Wall

http://www.liberatedmanuals.com/TM-10-5410-230-13.pdf Here is a copy of the TM that deals with some of the bootwalls. If anyone has leads on the other 2 styles of boot walls, let me know.

    Command Post Tent Vehicle Wall

I just picked up a green M577/1068 boot wall, brand new in the box, off of my favorite auction site, shipped for less than $100. I think it will work very nicely with an enclosed trailer, even if I have to mod it a bit.

Difference between m416 and m101 (1/4 ton trailer)

The CDN M101 took most of the faults (Not that there are many, but a few) of the US M416 and fixed it. Square "tube" on the top of the bed. No provisions to float it, but 4 drain holes. Beefier frame. thicker bed. Tiedowns in the bed. Sling/tie down points from and rear. Reinforcements on...
