I'm sure there's going to be loaner gear there. Just ask roger. If not, I can loan him some!
Force recon association? I'm certain he's already contacted them about this one too.
One of my reenactor buddies is running a vietnam era USMC Recon School, for USMC Reenactors.
It's going to be in Eastern Washington state, and he needs period radios and vehicles to attend.
Specificially;
1 cargo truck (2.5 ton or 5 ton)
1 or two MUTTs (or M38A1)
Anything else for static...
Myself + one other (often my girlfriend) lifting the "light" end can move the tub on the foor, or lift onto a low trailer. It takes 3 people to lift it back onto the jeep. Me + my girlfriend + my 58 year old uncle.
It's not all that heavy. :wink:
My M52A2 that was in vietnam had Re-bar that was welded to the bumper. (which was later cut down, so now only the welded section remains) So I'm thinking it was 100% pure field mod for new drivers.
Picked up a Mirror for my 5 Ton, since I have two that don't match. But get this... this one doesn't match either. So now I have 3 different mirrors!
This one is for sale... New In Box!

I bought an M979 series trailer, and it appeared to be in great shape.
Then I had to buy tires. $$$$
Now I'm stuck looking for hoses and break parts. then I'm going to have to rebuild the brake system.
You do of course have a military 5 ton to pull it with right? The 979 series was only...
Those would be the surge brakes. I have them on my M116A2 also. That big box is the give away, as you have a big spring and master cylinder in there.

I spent a year looking for a tarp for my M116A2, and I found one by chance on my interstate travels. I did find a new manufacture online, who wants $900+ for thiers. I'll see if I can find that info for you.
