    Wheel covers?

    Ugh, I can't believe I actually said I liked this monstrosity: http://www.steelsoldiers.com/members-rides/2437-malibu-california-style-black-duece.html

    Wheel covers?

Why do I get the feeling that this guy would absolutely love the "California Deuce" that we all found so disgusting a few years back? Lol...

    USAF M715s

My stepfather was in the USAF and had pics of him sitting on the tailgate of an M715 at Da Nang. If I remember right it was grey and they had taken the soft top off and put a piece of sheet metal across the bows but left the back of the cab open. It may not have been grey though as I'm going...

    What's missing here ?

In my experience with various forums, no. Very few search and even fewer pay any attention to forum rules, stickies, or FAQ sections. Sad but true.

    What's missing here ?

Incorrect. As you can see int he images posted by the original poster, the plug is there in it's storage hole beside the drain hole. The plug is left out until the vehicle is prepared for fording and then it is removed from it's storage hole and placed in the drain hole, after fording the plug...

Converting front D44 to lock out hubs

Sounds like a solid plan.

Converting front D44 to lock out hubs

Agreed, CAD axles are great to swipe parts from as few people want them for anything else. The manual hub fit exactly as NHdiesel explained it. Pop off the cap, take out the splined puck and pick up a set of Warn Premiums (Warn part number 20990) and you are set. Keep in mind if you haven't...

Converting front D44 to lock out hubs

You need to replace everything from the knuckle out, including the knuckle. Knuckle, spindle, hub, rotor, caliper, caliper bracket, stub shaft, etc. I would avoid Ford stuff as they use weaker knuckles and 5 bolt spindles. GM stuff is usable and common or you could keep it Dodge and just use...

    77 m880

Sorry but I have to strenuously disagree with the full time 4WD D44 being the strongest 44 option. The weak hub and bearings make it very failure prone if not maintained constantly. I'd take a CAD D44HD over a full time D44HD any day. Or you can always do what I did an swap in a front D60...

    77 m880

Ah, I should have considered that this is an M880. I'm too used to dealing with all the 1/2 ton questions from over at RamchargerCentral, lol. GM 8 lug stuff would work, even Ford stuff but they use a weaker 5 lug spindle. I've found that flat top knuckles are more common on Dodge trucks...

    My new M885

Note that the RTV seal is only temporary. Gasoline and it's vapors will eventually dissolve RTV silicone.

    77 m880

Good luck getting any other transfer case to bolt to that 727 as nothing else will fit it. Also note that GM front axles do not directly bolt in as the spring perches are about 1/2" off and you will still have to deal with the GM 6 lug pattern. If you want an easy part time swap, find a...

    ACU camo?

I don't think I saved the link but there is a company that has licensed the Multicam pattern for the vehicle appliques. I didn't think much about saving the link since it's a clothing scale pattern for a vehicle which doesn't work and any long time members of SS will probably remember what a...

Double check the carb. It should be a typical Carter BBD 2 BBL carb similar to the one in the pic below: EDIT: Darn, I took too long finding the pic and NDT beat me to the punch, lol.

    ACU camo?

Which German pattern? The German Flecktarn patterns and it's variants work very well, especially when you consider they have been around since WWII. While a lot of camouflage patterns seem odd, they are usually very specialized and work very well in their intended environment, season and even...

Cornering the Market on Deuce Engines

Agreed, I think the line has to be drawn somewhere and to prevent future issues of "this thread wasn't deleted so mine shouldn't either", I think the mods should maybe hold the line and not any such postings go through, especially considering the antagonistic turn the thread has taken. I'm not...

What a Deuce is made for, Especially a bobbed one.

Somehow I think redneck shenanigans is the last thing on the mind of the designers of the M35, lol.

Help with item ID on my Deuce

Sounds like a bracket to mount a gun ring. Reasonably common.

    first m880/what engines

    Or a 383, 400, 426 or 440 with a few simple mods.

    first m880/what engines

Agreed, only one drivetrain combo was ever used and that was the 318 2BBL, 727 automatic, NP203 transfer case, full time 4WD D44 front axle and D60 rear axle, both with 4.10 gears.
