May 25 or 26th depart. Time to bring the M818 home, Maryland to Ogden, Utah. The route is primarily I-70 and I-80. (Not familiar with the best way to get to the Mississippi, open to suggestions).
Looking for contacts to back me up and emergency help along the way. Would appreciate a few phone...
This is the most efficient way to add 12v to the truck. Rather than a major change to 12v, or adding converters and voltage reducers (both of which add complexity and a nightmare to a future owner), this second 12v alternator is simple and doesn't detract from the stock system. IMO
Hey Chief- glad you added your comments. This post looked a little unusual to say the least. You'll find most folks on here are careful and like to do things right. Best of luck to you and your dept.
Heads up- when you order the alternator kit, ask to have it sent UPS, not USPS. I ordered mine on April 12, shipped the next day via USPS Priority, and its still not here (May 18th)! Ridiculous.
Greg- I may have missed it- but I can't tell who or what group is putting this on? If you are coming to our get together in the 22nd in Ogden, I'm sure you could find a few of us to lend a hand with some trucks.
I'm sure it's been suggested many times: this kit from one of our SS members solves the problem:
M35 2.5 Ton Military truck alternator upgrade kit from Wolverine Technologies LLC
"We now have a 12 volt add on kit for your multifuel engines in 2.5 and 5 ton trucks, 189 amps, kit is designed to...
They just pulled/cancelled a group of M35A2 and A3 trucks at Clearfield (Hill AFB) that were scheduled for sale next week. Even did my due diligence (preview) on them- that was a big waste of time...
Ken- that is amazing and great. I wish you would start a thread about your truck, and detail your use and maintenance. It would be very interesting to many of us. You may have the ultimate long haul M35A2, and we should know more about it.

I ordered a set from jatonka- haven't put them on yet, but they look real good.
JATONKA M35 CANVAS SEATCOVERS
He is also a very knowledgeable MV guy and an active poster here on SS.
Good suggestion! I had one of these units in an offshore sailboat- ran it on 24 volts. Very efficient and I think good for a camper conversion. It was quite efficient, too. I had some solar panels to keep the batteries charged, nothing like fresh ice cream out on the high seas!

Hi, hope you can make it- bring your military vehicle(s) if you can- if not- we still want you! This is not a Convoy, see details on the link.
Military Vehicle...
Look at it this way
I'm glad this M/V hobby has an 'upward' price direction- it means our stuff is at least holding it's value. Sure, we have to pay a bit more to get what we want, but like my pappa tol' me- 'Son, you didn't pay too much for it, you just bought too early'.
It's only money, we...
Is that "you pay him" or "He pays you"? I'd let someone drive mine if they paid me $2.00 per mile. To pay someone else to drive your deuce home is not registering to me...
