Here's the I-70 then I-80 route I'll take. If you live along this route, I could still use a few more contacts- 'just in case'.
Ellicott City, MD to 2710 S 1900 W, West Haven, UT 84401 - Google Maps
I've seen it now!
But how old is it? I'm not on it and don't see a way to offer my help. I looked at one name (near my upcoming route) and their last activity on SS was 5/2008. Just saying it needs to be current and maintained.
We need something like it that us newer guys can...
Welcome from the Wild West. Looks like you have a lot of good folks near you tp help.
Hey, can some of you Ohio guys take a look at my post about the best route thru Ohio? Link here:

Looking for a little local advice for the best route- the trip is from Maryland to Utah. I came up with the two shortest routes and wonder which way you would go. Keep in mind I'm driving an empty M818.
Shortest route (by only a few miles) goes thru Cleveland then west thru Des Moines.
Other...
The thought crossed my mind about people getting on the list just to get email address to send crap to. But there is no real way to prevent that I guess.
Anyway, I am on the list and hope others will add their names ASAP (esp. if you line on the I-80 or I-70 corridors! My big trip starts next...
Jakob- OK, it's now working for me. I accepted the invitation and can see the names and contact info.
edbrown, I will take a look at your links too. If there is a list that has been going on, we shouldn't duplicate things. But for now we should keep collecting contact info --- it can always be...
Jakob, good idea. I noticed that the list requires logging in on Google. Is that the plan? Some of us have a beef with Google... are there other places for the list to reside- like here in SS?
I will participate- too bad it's not up and running for my cross country M818 trip next week.
Brian- hope you can make it. 48 miles on a Saturday up I-15 is an easy drive. Heck, I'll be driving an M818 from MD to UT next week (2000+ miles).
One good wiper blade and you should be good!:-D
Here's the map link to the Tactical Center: Google Maps
We've only put this out on SS forum, so...
Just a reminder- the get together is still a GO. Rain or shine. AP Canvas Co has confirmed they will be there. And the tour of the Tactical Center will be at approx 1PM.
Who knows what the weather wil be like- but a little rain won't hurt your truck! See you there.
If you don't have a truck...
Mark- this is what I would do (what heavysteven said). Take the truck that got the most water, or one you haven't done the bearings on, and take it apart and check. You'll know right away if the others may need attention, and how much you'll need to do.
Jolly- it was good to hear you made it home from the recovery in good shape. Appreciate your comments and we all enjoy reading about long trips. Reading your posts about both of your recent 5 ton recoveries helped me decide to drive this truck home, rather than ship it. But the main factor is...
I"ll be north of Denver on I-80, made that run many times. I-80 is a pretty easy run in the spring/summer. I'm mostly wondering about the best way out of the eastern states- the map on the first post is how I'm planning unless I hear of a better route.
Thanks
