Hi neighbor- and welcome to SS: a really good resource. Hope you can come by with one of your vehicles on May 22. We'll just be hanging out, having lunch, hope to get a tour of the Swanson Tactical Center and we'll also talk about the convoy out to Lucin and our shooting range.
"If the bids are not where you want them to be, close the auction 24 hours before it ends (wait too long & it's nearly impossible to close)."
Oldgoat- Most of the serious bidders don't even engage or enter a bid until the last 39.5 minutes. I have to disagree with your idea... respectfully
;)
greenjster- looking at your ebay ad, you don't say anything about the dual brake circuit that the 1989 AM Generals have. Might help to get the most value out of the truck to list that feature. The dual system really makes the A2 an even greater truck.
The only real auctions (to me) are $0 to start and no reserve. They always get the best/most action-- and savvy bidders know to watch 'hot' active auctions. You'll come out ok.
On the other hand- where's the excitement in buying a known/good running truck. Much more fun to throw the dice at a...
When are you going to pick it up? You'll need to stop in Mesquite on your way home (or Ogden if it's after May 9th). That'll be one long ride home... but I'd do it in a second.
If the employees a the SEC (Securities and Exchange Commission) can look at naked girls during work, so can I. And they were doing it instead of catching Bernie Madoff...:|
While economy crumbled, top financial watchdogs at SEC surfed for porn on Internet: memo
lonegunman- that would be very cool to have a truck that you drove while you were active duty. My dad, a Korean War vet, really wants to go for a drive in a truck he drove during the war. I think I'm going to make it happen one day soon.
And he really likes my A3!!!
Hi Greg- I'd go with 50/50 odds that you can drive out. I've had 100% drive out success so far (knocking on wood) on a few trucks. Most of them needed batteries- so take them and some wood or foam blocks to secure them in the box.
I would suggest you call Tim at GL and ask him about the truck...
Hi mog66, can you post some pictures of your truck?
I (for one) am always glad to hear about good experiences with suppliers. Too many times we only hear about problems- the internet being what it is. Of course without the internet- we would never know about you and your deuce up in Ontario!
We still want to do the Lucin trip, and we'll talk about it on the 22nd. We just want to get some of the new guys up to speed before we go racing across the desert!!! And I'm going to be moving some trucks from Custer to Ogden just before the 22nd, so I ran out of time to get ready.
Looking...
(We have changed this first event. Our ambitious convoy has been changed/delayed. Now a one day get together at the Swanson Tactical Center. The first post has been changed- here is the final plan- hope to see all you locals make it!)

Interesting to note the fuel consumption they listed of 5.15 to 6.18 mpg @ 1500 RPM. Wonder how they came up with that? Maybe just to be very conservative or hauling a max load. My experience is 9 mpg plus at 2300 RPM or so.
1500 seems an odd RPM to run these motors at.
Yes, this is normal. It is good news that it has been sent to BC. There is nothing you need to do now but be patient. Good time to get your tools together and read everything you can about your truck.
