    M 880 Facts

Before you sticky this one, could there be a bit more explanation on the correlations. I have had an M886 for years and don't see the M880 correlation except that the 880 is the base truck for all the variations in that series. The way it is written, you have to read back through the bullet...

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

Rooster, I tried that tailgate trick once with the M54. Had both tailgate chains undone, ready to lower and someone spoke to me, turned and wham. Fortunately the step missed my head and the tailgate came down on the shoulder, grazing my head. I don't think I went out, but did see stars on...

What have you done to your JEEP today

It will look great when you are done, but it didn't look bad from your photos, before you started.

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

Changed the boots on the 1SG's 923A1 yesterday and played with the PBR guys tractor today. It is having an airleak somewhere and when it finally started, noticed a small leak of fuel on the rubber line going to the IP. Project for another day.

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

Good points Simp. My truck is an A0 too. I have one section of I-5, about 3 or 4 miles, that I either have to do 40 or get in the high speed lane. First time I went over that section, thought something was wrong with the truck, but since, I have noticed that real over the road rigs get in the...

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

Nope I was ignorant and lucky. Really steep hill, wet, on asphalt. brakes were not caged and air was up on both vehicles. I stopped at the top, eased over, tapped the brakes, did not put my foot in them, and started sliding. Was not in low range as I was on asphalt and it was wet as it is...

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

Good point and something to watch out for. I let a 923A2 push my 923 down a pretty steep hill on a wet day a couple of months ago. Downshift and brakes weren't helping a lot. Fortunately I got a pretty good lesson in with no harm to anyone else or myself. But the car that had to go into the...

I only have a couple of thousand miles on mine, so how do you break a shifter cable?

4 July 2016 Centralia, WA Summerfest MV display

Larry bought the Beast from CA a while back and has done some touch up and further restoration. It is a really nice 1970 M813. Too bad the M923's don't have a nice place to hang the tow bar, like the 813"s. As for the mix, we just get what people bring. But it was definitely a nice grouping...

What have you done to your JEEP today

DF you should be able to search some of the threads and see what some of the rest of us have for dates and numbers and come up with a reasonable hood number. My M38A1 is 12/53 manufacture, ser. no. 68014, and hood number 20997729. I have owned this jeep for 30 years and it is original, not...

Mission accomplished. Here are a few photos from the day. We ended up with about 35 people for lunch and 16 vehicles in the parade, ranging from 1941 GP to a 1987 Humvee. We also took 1st place in the parade for Historical entry.

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

Doggone kids anyway. Kilroy was there from the beaches of Normandy to the Latrines of Saddam Hussein's Palace in Iraq. And pretty much everywhere in between.

    Poor Man's Cargo Bows

That is imaginative work. Good job. You have just made a small laminated beam. While I am not a fan of OSB for much of anything, you aren't generally putting much weight on top, unless you get some serious snow load on it. It should work fine for most instances. I took a fir 1x4 cut to...
