    military antenna sugestions

I believe the hole in the stock CUCV antenna mount is too big for the AB-15 base, and an adapter will need to be fabricated.

    CUCV startup sounds

Sorry, I don't remember which one it is, but that sounds right. I'm sure someone will chime in with a confirmation / denial. Many here have done so. Without knowing how yours is wired in, I can't say for sure. It can be as simple as tapping into the correct wire at the glow plug controller...

    CUCV startup sounds

If the Wait light is coming on upon restart of a fully warmed up engine, you might want to check the glow plug temp sensor.

    CUCV emissions restrictions in California

From the stuff I've read, both what GL sent me about this and things posted here, those regs only apply to commercial vehicles or vehicles that weigh more than a CUCV. Until I hear differently, I'm not worrying about it. Yes, you can probably register as historic, but that may come with usage...

    Fuel gauge !

If you look up the GM part number for the printed circuit in the -20p or -34p manual, I forget which one it is in, you'll find that it crosses to one of them from LMC. I have not bought one to compare though. I posted that info a while ago in one of the custom instrument cluster threads. If you...

Burned Fusible Links after Starter Run-on Explained and Illustrated

Would a disconnect between the 24v buss bar and the cable to the starter do the trick? Sure, the starter solenoid would still be engaged via the stuck starter relay, but the starter would not be running away anymore, yes?

    Sticking Voltmeter Guage

This place might have some: http://www.mtpdrivetrain.com/part-inventory/NSN-6474905-Part-6625-01-162-8124%20%286625011628124%29

Wait Light Should I be concern?

JJ - My assumption would be that the wait light should *not* come back on again once it goes off, unless the engine has been shutdown and restarted after cooling sufficiently to need the glow plugs to operate. The Glow Plug Theory of Operation thread / sticky may cover that. Since the light is...

    Sticking Voltmeter Guage

There was a post a few months ago from a member who put a new 24v gauge there, and it looked pretty good. Using a *real* 24v gauge gets rid of that resistor on the back.

Safe to leave key in on position?

I only see the ACC position shown in the picture of the key positions, but no mention in the text that I could find other than "won't work with ignition off".

Wait Light Should I be concern?

You might try pulling the glow plug controller card and cleaning the contacts on the board and the connector in the housing.

Changed fuel filter now truck won't start??

What, exactly, is it doing / not doing? You mentioned the "water in fuel" sensor and it not turning over. The two are not connected.

Safe to leave key in on position?

I don't know anything about this pin in the lock cylinder that prevents going to the ACC position, as mine works and does not look like it has been changed. I presume people are pushing the key and the outer ring of the cylinder in before attempting to turn it back to the ACC position, which...

    Sticking Voltmeter Guage

    Replace the gauge.

    swollen glow plug removal

DH has mentioned before that he has put vise grips on the bad plug, and had someone start the truck to blow it out. Holding it with the vise grips *should* keep it from becoming a projectile. I have never tried this, so cannot say any more than that.

    Clicking Solenoid

At the top of the site, click where it says "Technical Manuals", and go to the CUCV section. the -10 is the basic user manual, the -20 and -34 are repair manuals, and the -20p and -34p manuals are parts books. They are all in PDF format, and full of most of the information you need to operate...

    Clicking Solenoid

It sounds like your glow plug relay is cycling. Follow the glow plug system test procedure in the TMs. My guess would be either a bad controller card, or more likely, a bad glow plug temp sensor.

    cold start

Don't assume the glow plugs are working just because they are new. There is a nice glow plug system test procedure in the TM's. It's possible they are are not cycling the way they are supposed to. Possible causes could be the glow plug controller card, the glow plug relay, the big resistor on...

    CUCV startup sounds

Mine has the seat belt buzzer, but the wire to the seat belt is disconnected, so I don't know if it works, beyond the light coming on and going off.

    CUCV startup sounds

That might be the glow plug relay cycling.
