I agree with NDT. There is no way the distributor case should hit the side of the engine block when setting the timing. I don't know this distributor, but if it has a gear drive at the end of the shaft, it could be off by several gear teeth. If there is a tang on the end, it could be 180...
Nothing like a little JATO to help you get up those pesky mountain grades. This setup is a little rough on the trailer you're towing, however. Also tends to start brush fires.
Filling the cannister is not recommended because of the possbility of getting dirt into your expensive IP. Just be prepared to pump the prime handle about 156 times.

Can also install CB or bring FM handi-talkies.
Comms?
Just a quick question...is there any official type of radio communications that has been selected? It seems the choices are military PRC 77, 25 or RT 524 etc., CB, or FM handi-talkies. Is there cell phone coverage in the area? This might be helpful to anyone arriving late, especially...
I switched to military pintle hook to one of those combination pintle hooks that incorporates a 2-inch ball. You loose the swivel feature doing this, but the M416 trailer I have has its own swivel. I used all grade-8 hardware when mounting the hitch.
I haul a small car trailer with my Mule or...
