If you feel a need to head a bit south, there is always Eagan's burgers in Oly. We met there once before and they like having us around.

Moving M-39 Series 5 tons to the Korean/Vietnam War section

Thank you for the answer on further splintering the forum. While not reasonable now, Technology being what it is, it may become possible at a future date to accomplish this request. After a quick look at the first 4 pages of the current 5 T forum, at least 80 percent of the threads pertain to...

Mike, you made me so tired reading about the projects that I have to go take a nap. If you need an exterior mirror, I may be able to help out. Have an extra new one that is wired for defrost. I didn't see that on your list of to do items. :)

That was an interesting use of GAA. Hope it works out. When I rebuilt the M54 hardtop this last fall, i went with a bead of silicone sealer on the tops of both back gaskets, nothing except a good cleaning on the front top to windshield gasket. I thought if the top of the back gaskets were...

Olympic Flight Museum Military Show March 23, 2013

Kurt, let's keep in touch on that. Their front and only parking lot can hold about 8 to 12 solo vehicles, jeeps to 5 tons, plus we have to leave room for the handicap parking, but as it gets closer, if you let me know, we may find a work around to cover your truck and trailer. It is a great...

Olympic Flight Museum Military Show March 23, 2013

OFM will be holding their Spring military display and show on March 23, 2013. Show will run from 1000 to 1700. There is a 5 dollar admission fee. This is a fund raiser for the museum. They would like to invite those of us with MV's to attend and park in the front parking lot, like we did last...

I will apologize for the straightening comment. the Sgt. Maj. was right on. Most everything else on the truck you can get by, but when it comes to the brakes, you need the best. As he mentioned were your shoe retainers in good shape? Also check your wheel cylinder as he suggested. You can...

That is really odd to have it bend like that. I think I would try a bit of a tune up on it with a 4 pound hammer and a hard flat surface. And yes there is plenty of brake lining there.

Notice anything wrong about this picture?

Please note the CJ5 style grill, chrome headlight rings, and turn signals instead of blackout lights, also no external power port on the passenger side.

What sort of damage could you have where the wheel cylinder pushes against the shoe? Can you do a picture? I might have gotten a wheel cylinder on the 5T that the gap was too narrow and it wouldn't release from the shoe, so we substituted the old push rod and it worked fine.

Loco, South sound brake as already mentioned or Rapid Brake in Olympia. Also if you go to a heavy truck parts shop, they may be able to hook you up. I think there is one on old Pacific Hwy. in Fife. You might also catch one at Brad's in Yelm, depending on what he has on the scrap pile. The...

Attention!! Please use caution when driving vehicles home from auction!

First, condolences to Jesse6325 on this tragedy. Second please add Common Sense to the list of registration and insurance, of things that we should not leave behind. this last summer, while horsing around with 2 passengers in the 42 GPW, I managed to hit an 18" boulder along the shoulder of...

    Pics of the Studebaker US6

Here is another pic of Larry's truck. This was at Aaron W's. Napavine Steel soldier event last summer. Larry's truck was a short logger or log loader truck when he got it. He got rid of the loader and found a bed and here it is. You are so fortunate to have found a new wiring harness. About 3...

Mike, when I was redirected, I missed your narrative. Have read it and the questions are answered. Way to go team. I spent most of the afternoon trying to adapt an older metal air wiper to the M54 only to get it going and the nut is not holding the wiper arm like it should. The motor works...
