I'm just wondering how many trips to refuel it would take to get tired of climbing up in the bed to put fuel in before I put the tank back under the truck, lol...
I have the manual somewhere that has the actual diagram on it for this pattern. I think it might be one of the ones posted here on SS, or it may be one I picked up from LOGSA. I'll have to check when I get home.
I think the summerized version runs something like this: Get a Duece and a 1.5 ton trailer. Bob the Deuce, keep one axle, use the leaf springs and mounts off the trailer to mount the axle, then mount the bed of the trailer on the Deuce. Swap the tires to super singles and drive. Avoid USA6x6...
Diesels are nice but it's hard to match the raw power of a nicelly built big block Mopar. I have a 383 in my Dodge and it will out pull a lot of light diesel engines. MPG is a joke, but what theh hell, lol...
Those colors are very similar to a Soviet pattern. I was going to do one of mt Dodges in the Soviet "Permafrost" pattern that uses those colors with a grey color added in. Nice lookin truck.
Try www.miltrucks.com I know he has a couple take out sets and one is on Ebay now I believe. I'm not exactly sure where he is at, but I know he is in Ohio and frequents this board some also.
It wasn't that long ago that I went through school for all of this and I still remember the hard points of it. Rizzo and Mcinfantry (Nice to see you still on the net, Lee!) are correct. You can run retreads on the steering axle except on passenger buses. Some states may have stricter regs but...
Yeah it's not to bad of a game for a free one. The US Army made it and distributes it out for free as a recruiting tool. Me and a few of our gaming clan members started playing it and put up our own Americas Army server to play on. It's very well done and with a lot of attention to detail...
Here's something I stumbled on while playing America's Army:
Err, somehow I ended up with two Ms instead of Ts in the filenames, but oh well, you get the idea, lol...
Trust me, you do NOT want to split up a forum of this size. It tends to "polarize" people to their area and it cuts down on overall participation. You only want to split it up if regular traffic becomes overwhelming in the popular forums. As it is I think we have more than enough diverse...
I'll give you the short version of Tom's story and he can fill in the details. Basically Daniel made a bunch of promises to Tom on parts and got the whole thing screwed up. Wrong parts, late or no shipment, bad quality, etc. Tom rants a bit about it and vows not to do business with Daniel...
Eddiec, to the best of my knowledge, the brackets on the bumper should face up. That was a mod done to a lot of Navy trucks (and others I assume) to use for overhead lifting on trucks that weighed more then the normal Deuce. If your brackets face down, it means someone either added a winch...
