Darnit, there always has to be some reason why it just can't be easy. good points, thank you. So what you are saying is be quiet and get to drilling.:(
Looks like the CAF Sentimental Journey. I told them that I would repaint the bumpers on my 42 to match the Bomb Squadron painted on that plane. This will be the 14th year and it is in some respects the best airshow in the area, although Paine Field is making a run. I like it because it is all...
That is an interesting idea of going with fiberglass. You could probably go with some of the body panel adhesives and not have to drill and rivet. that would cut water infiltration. Keep us posted because if they go to the trouble to make one, it wouldn't be that much of a stretch to do few more.
Hello team, July 4, starting at 0800 in Borst Park, Centralia WA 98531, there will be a military display. this is an open era display, meaning, bring what you have and want to display as long as it is tasteful. Please no live ammo at this event.
There is a community breakfast starting at 0700...
Hello Team, time to get these dates on your calendar. We always have a good MV presence at this one. Between the military units, Puget Sound vehicle club, Friends of Willie and Joe, the Saigon Club, and Friends of Kilroy, there is quite a variety of vehicles and military displays for the...
It was a light turnout on our part. Thanks to Ed for bringing the M35 and Mary K. for babysitting my M38A1. the weather was great and the crowd was large. We had front row display area for the event this year. Sorry for little to no pics as I was tied up most of the time in the WW1 display...
You can count me in boss. Have not heard from McChord on doing a display for them. I will miss it as I have displayed at every airshow there since 1984.
I was following RR's interest in this event and thought she was right on till she got to the part about respectable parties. She is probably...
You guys are killing me with all these nice over the cab body parts. Mine looks like someone tried to take it through somewhere that was a bit low. Am not looking forward to drilling out all those rivets. It looks like either the inside fiberglass has to come down or the outside tin.
What a...
That sounds like a game plan to me. Only thing is sit on the foam and see how much deflection you get. You may need something a bit stiffer than the memory foam. you want something stiff enough so that your spine is not being part of the shock absorber for the truck. If it passes the sit...
Dale, do you have a springer seat or box? You are on the right track with the foam. Add an inch of foam on top and you will have a much more comfortable seat. Also I have used GI sleeping mat for this purpose as it is inexpensive and sheds water very well. Some of the other upholstery foams...
Got my first MV 25 years ago. Still have that one and 6 others and out of seven, 5 are running. they are not 100 point restorations, but they go and stop and are green or variations there of. Some need cosmetics but they are for the most part dependable runners. When I want to go they start...
Hang in there. Do it right with each piece you repair and replace and one of these days you will have it caught up and be ready to really enjoy it. My truck I got for a realitively low initial price, but years of lack of use have taken the toll and it has required some pricey repair work. but...
Know the feeling, wish I had been available, but was in Portland for work yesterday and then to the fort last evening to set up two tents for todays display. Had the model 1917 wall tent and the M-1942 small wall tent doing duty today.
Dale,
missed you again today. I saw your truck though. Was over doing WW1 on the back side of the baseball field. Had not done that before and it was a lot of fun.
Had the M38A1 out for our female medic friend, painted the bumper for her unit, 1 Med. BN, 65-66. she had a ball with it today...
We will be staging on the grassy area just north of the theater. Will be sharing that plot of land with Friends of Willie and Joe and any Puget Sound vehicle folks that show up. The event boss, Kate, thought that we all could figure out how we wanted to set this area up. This is a great space...
Stopped by the Ft. today and the hsitoric military vehicles are going to get front row center this year. There is a grassy area just as you come off the main street, just north of the theater that they are going to turn over for MV parking and whatever other displays might be attached with your...
Wrench quick. After note today with MWR, it looks like they will be placing the vehicles on the grass around the theater. That is what she said, but as I remember it, there is not much grass there, but we will make it work. Event starts at 1000 so we should be there no later than 0900 for...
