I just made my plans to attend. I'll be staying at the doubletree Friday night and plan to be at the show all day Friday and Saturday. Anyone here planning to attend? Anyone want to plan a S.S. get together?
I have a set of legs but no gun ring. An MG3 gun ring looks like it would work with some simple manufactured plates to span from the legs to the ring. Anyone mount this style ring to their truck?
Gang,
Winters CA. has a small car show every 2nd Tuesday thru Oct. I brought the 1941 Indian once last year and it got a lot of attention. I'm planning to drive either the Deuce or the Indian again next Tuesday April 12th from 5pm to 9pm. Anyone want to join me?
Hey gang,
I acquired a significant amount of spare parts from a M.V. hobbyist who left the hobby. I have lots of gasket sets, axle seals, etc. that are still sealed in their brown paper packages marked with the NSN number and a brief description. Most parts should be for 2 1/2 and 5 ton...
I took the 2001 M-gator for a spin the other day and it overheated and shut down. It has the Yanmar diesel engine. I found the water pump wasn't moving coolant. Come to find out, if it sucks in air (like opening the radiator cap ) it will lose the prime in the water pump and not pump...
I thought it would be cool to make a gun mount for my gator. I found this picture of what I was imagining. Anyone done this yet? I'd love some dwgs etc.
Funny how some things just fall into place...I'm on a business trip in Portland and while surfing the net, I stumble across an ad selling this gator. No pics, just description. Price seemed right so I called the person, drove over to the Gator, jump started it and bought it on the spot. Now I...

My friend and fellow SS member (Five Ton Larry) won (3) M116 trailers and is looking for someone to move them off the Barstow lot to a staging area where he can pick them over over the following weekend. The loadout is 5/27 at 0700 hrs. Please let me know.
Attn. Mog experts:
A friend obtained this 404 mog non-running. He had a mechanic rebuild the carb. but still has issues starting and running requiring lots of choke etc. Guidance on proper carb. adjustments is requested.
I'm moving my mother-in-law into our home. She has a Kia Sportage (small SUV). Runs and drives fine. Timeline is open so no particular date matters. Door to door not important either since I can have family deliver the vehicle somewhere in Cinti. and I can arrange to pick it up somewhere in...
5-ton Larry and myself are setting up a nice M.V. display. It's in Vacaville at the Nut tree airport. For those of you who aren't familiar, they fly in about a dozen P-51 mustangs on top of a bunch of other planes. They have a car show as well. It's a nice event. I know there are a good...
"Kinda" is because I started this months ago but I'm finally gaining some ground. I started tearing into the wrecker to get her prepared for paint. The previous paint looked cracked, like fish eye, but worse. I'm thinking too much hardener??? Anyway, I ended up using 40 grit sandpaper in...
I moved the crowd out on the wrecker so I can prep it for paint. Upon completion, i found a bunch of hyrdrolic oil coming out the back of the boom. The TM has you remove the entire boom, them remove the crowd in order to access the crowd cylinder. Anyone have a simpler way to fix this?
I just picked up this lubrication trailer. It's a 1967. After painting it 24087, it'll look great towed behind the wrecker. It doesn't have the compressor but the tanks are triple rinsed and the rest is pretty much there. The body is in very good shape and tires are like-new. I'm going to...
I am moving along on my M543 wrecker restoration. I am getting all new data plates re-made. The data plate I'm pointing to in the picture is so faded i can't make it out. Can someone help me out?
