Mine is a NAPA spin on for a 1983 GMC dually with a 6.2. I have the primary like the one pictured above and a secondary right behind the airfilter mount, where it meets the intake. Switching to this set up relieved all of my air in fuel problems.
I allready have the dually truck. I was trying to find out how to convert a SRW front 60 to a DRW. I bought the truck for next to nothing with a leaking radiator but a rebuilt trans, new injection pump, and 147,000 original miles. The body is imaculate. I am also going to convert it to 4X4. I...
I have a 1983 GMC 1 ton dually with a 6.2 that needs a radiator and converted to 4x4. Can I use a radiator from a CUCV. Also can the front dana 60 be converted to a dually configuration by adding the dually spacers. I want to convert my truck to look like a CUCV. And does anyone have a radiator...
I was putting together a Cummins 12 valve with an Allison RDS2500 6 speed with overdrive and a custom T-case that had under, 1-1, and overdrive in it for the Deuce. But after the dust settled I had a Cummins and a T-case but no trans. So now it's sitting in my F350 with a built 727 as my trans...
I turned the screw today and took her for a long drive. I turned it 3/16 of an inch out. The power change was amazing. It felt like a whole new truck. I'm pouring black smoke when I bump the throttle then it clears up. Under load in 5th she's still not hitting the 1000 mark, close but not there...
I'm adding a Milemarker 24V 18.5 winch. I use my winch very hard on a regular basis so I wanted a smaller "dimensionally" winch with a larger pulling capacity.
Going up hill at WOT the EGT reaches 900. At idle it's right under 300. She's bobbed and running 395's. Unless I have a tail wind or going down hill she only reaches 50 MPH indicated for a total of 55 MPH. I am thinking of turning up the fuel. I am seeking opinions on the subject. I figure...
The same as above. I just did the same thing last weekend. I am removing my winch to put in a better one that's not PTO driven. It took about 20 minutes to pull the PTO and put the cover on.
I had to move my camper the other day and found a similar situation. The birds were nesting in the toung. My daughter went ballistic when I told her I was going to move it anyway. I was only moving it 15 ft. Well she won it's still sitting there. It's hard to argue with an 11 year old that...
I am running moddified HEMMT wheels. I went with option 3. I got a set of HEMMT wheels from www.100dollarman.com . I got a set of weld in centers from www.stazworks.com for $50.00 each. I made a very simple jig and used my plasma cutter to cut the center of the HEMMT wheel out, I gently filed...
When I picked up my last deuce someone had taken my tailgate and my fuel gage. I was pretty upset. Tim at Barstow was nice enough to take a tail gate off of a truck that had not come up for auction yet and even put it on for me while I went to lunch. I had to buy a fuel gage but that was really...
Depending on the date I might be gone. I am going overseas again in Jan. But before that are the work ups. Small two to three week deployments all over. I missed the Barstow adventure this year due to the trans being down.
After a little over a month of down time my bobbed Deuce is running again. We just got the trans put back in today. The input bearing failed while I was trying to get to my buddies cabin in about 3 ft of snow. Man it feels good to drive it again. Now she's ready for San Diego traffic. I am...
I bought a universal ignition switch and wired in in series with the push button. So you have to both turn the main power switch on and turn the key to the on position to get power. Then to start it you have to hold down the push button and turn the key at the same time. It works pretty good.
I flipped my hubs then super singled it. I tossed the bud caps out and used lug nuts from the M105 trailer axle for my rear lug nuts. Worked perfect. I left mine LH and RH threads respectivly. I've had too many old Dodges it just seams natural to me.
I have been running JP8 for years in my Ford with a 7.3 idi when and as I can get it. the Ford loves it. I add a couple of gallons of deisel to it or a qt of oil to the mix for lubricity. I haven't been able to get any for awhile now so I haven't run it in my deuce.
