My best MODS are, air hose hook ups on the rear of the bobbed bed. Ford aerostar bench seat. Interior NVG green dash lights, and hydraulic winch. All the pictures have been posted before.
I am using the registration service that is on base, unfortunatly he told me that I had to SMOG it inorder to get plates. I called DMV they told me my truck was chosen since it was a prior military vehicle and the eng tag does not say it is CA emisions compliant and I am registering it at 10300...
The DMV in San Diego says in order to register my Deuce I need to have it SMOG checked. I know a lot of you guys have registered your Deuces here with out a SMOG check. What do I need to do to get out of a SMOG check. I told them that the law says 1998 or newer so my truck is exempt. They told...
No need to drill. Look in the front or rear of the exhaust manifold. There is a 1/4 pipe thread plug in the manifold. I had to heat mine up with a torch to get it out but once I heated it up it came right out. I used the forward one just to make instalation easier.
I took pictures of my truck to the HOA before I brought it down. I got thier written approval before hand, I told my neighbors about it then brought it down and now drive it almost every day. I also put a muffler on it so it's not quite so loud. Good Luck.
I've boxed a bunch of frames on off road rigs I've built out of Ford and Chevys. Haven't done it on a dodge yet though. I box the frame to make it more rigid especialy around the suspension mounts. I want the suspension to cycle not the body. The more frame movement the shorter life span the...
I drive my bobbed Deuce as a daily driver in San Diego traffic. Yes it's a pain to shift so much and I have to watch for all the idiots. But my other trucks are 5 speeds too, the fuel milage sucks but I run used motor oil, Hydraulic fluid, JP-8, Gas, and Deisel all mixed together in varying...
I picked up a couple of auxillary lights that rivet or screw to the dash of an aircraft. The bulbs are 24 volt. The housing self grounds. I drilled the mount holes a little oversize and screwed them to the dash. I drilled a small hole behind the data plate and tapped into the existing dash...
I am running XMLs on my Bobber and repeatedly beat them off road in the deserts around So-Cal. I am now using the truck as a daily driver in San Diego. They are a little bouncy on the road under 30 MPH, but I think it's becuase the roads are concreete and aren't exactly smooth. Off road I drop...
Welcome. There is a bunch of great wheeling there where you are. I just left California City for San Diego. But I have been to Little rock alot. Just north of you is Red Rock Canyon and the open desert of Cal-City. Talk to 100dollarman for a M1009. I sold a few to guys in Palmdale so you'll see...
Here is my problem. When I turn hard right "full lock or almost there" and then turn back straight the steering is very tight until I hit a few bumps or drive about 150 yards or so. Then it is loose again just like normal. It only does it when I either hit full lock or almost hit it while...
I was going to put an Allison RDS 2500 behind the multi but backed out due using the trans in another project. I still think about it and maybe one of these days I'll make it back to the project.
