I have a 68 Kaiser M35A2. Tried getting moving today out of the mud/snow. It appears that the front axle is not engaging. Rear wheels just spin in the mud and it doesn't seem like front wheels are engaged at all. Isn't this supposed to be all wheel drive all the time? There is a drive shaft...
I had the same problem. I took a piece of vinyl siding cut to 59" in length and just used the bottom 1" where the J-channel is. Fits in the windshield groove perfectly. Then I used very small rivets and some strong adhesive glue to attach the front of the top to the vinyl. worked out great...
That looks really nice! I would put a small mini version on the front left breast of just the truck and the full size on the back with a logo over it. :-D
I have that tube also and appears to missing the rest. I occassionally see smoke coming out of it which smells like burning oil and it spits oily debris. Is this normal? Should I extend the tube further down to the ground?
My truck has CARC and there are places it is peeling off in large sheets, such as the floor of the cab which has a spot that just peeled off and underneath it looks like some type of milky white primer. Exterior CARC is flaking also in some spots. I'm thinking of knocking the big flaking...
I have a 68 Deuce which had an 87 rebuild. I am planning on installing a remote brake fluid reservoir as many have mentioned in another recent post. This of course will require adding some additional brake fluid. My question is, how do I know if I currently have DOT3 or DOT5 fluid in the...
I also went through USAA. I have my deuce tagged as a historic vehicle. USAA said they don't handle classic vehicles but they insure through Classic Auto and gave me their number. The insurance for my deuce through Classic Auto as a historic vehicle is $59 p/year.
Where would one get replacement brushes for these if that is the cause? I purchased a new alt from avengeusa, but I'm going to take the old one apart and dabble with it to see if I can repair it and use as a spare.
Anyone know where I can get just the metal corner brackets that connect the upright wood posts to the top bow? I have several that are rusted through, split and the screws are so rusted they were destroyed trying to get them off. I can salvage the wood for the most part, the brackets however...
Oops, yes that's what I meant. So I guess the only way to be absolutely sure is to take the positve terminal off the batter while its running and see if the alternator is putting out anything at all correct? And is it possible that a bad ground would cause the alternator to not put out any...
I checked them. We pulled the cover off the alternator where the leads connect and put a meter on it right there. It wasn't showing anything, just 23.8 volts with the power lever to the guages on. I'm guessing if it were working, it would have to be reading higher than that.
I'm pretty sure the alternator on my deuce crashed. I noticed the volt guage reading at the yellow/green line, then when starting the truck the guage went all the way left. Now its in the yellow. Put a meter on the batteries, they are 24 volt. When turn the power to the guages on, voltage...
Stumps is correct. I just went through this inquiry process in Md. If you do not have a title and MVA refuses to grant one, you go and apply for a "Writ of Mandumus." As he stated, this is a court order ordering the MVA to title it. They will only do so after you demonstrate to their...
Recently purchased 68 Kaiser M35A2. Horn did not work at all. Tried troubleshooting using TM's. While checking for voltage at solenoid per TM, observed one of the wires was disconnected (1st clue). Plugged in and horn immediately went off pretty much making me deaf. Unplugged wire and horn...
Interesting you mention that. My compressor kicks on about every 5 minutes even though nothing is running such as using brakes or wipers etc. I don't hear an air leak anywhere? Is it not normal for the compressor to cycle every few minutes when nothing is actually being used?
