Since we are on the subject, I plan to place a center tank on my M1028 to replace the saddle tank. I want to move the fuel door from the front left side of the bed to the rear right side of the bed. Has anyone ever done this? I came across people using filler necks inside the beds, but I do not...
A quick Google search using that part number shows 84-94 on that, so that seems a pretty safe range to look for. The file work is needed anyway so the bolt can pass through.
Here's a nice guide for the install...
Finally got someone to help me remove the bed. Had it all loose and ready to go.
Also got the tank out from under the donor M1009.
Has anyone here ever added a rear fuel tank to a truck? After having a quick look at cross member placement, it seems that both trailer hitches' supports are...
I've had to deal with this over the weekend. Found out that using an angle grinder to make 4 cuts per head, making it square and then smashing them out with a hammer worked well.

I guess I have to agree with cucvrus' DIY aproach...
(WIP obviously :-o)
By the way, those are 2 single DIN storage units (from my VW Polo) I put in there.
Created some space so I can start working on my trucks. M1009 will be stripped for parts, some to be used on the M1028, others will be sold.

Kind of a useless video, but I love the sound! :D
I purchased a Silhouette Cameo 2 plotter/cutter to make my own stencils. It cuts really well.
I could not wait to apply some stenciling, so I took some vinyl sticker foil that came with it to make some stencils and started painting. I cleaned and degreased the surface, but the cold wasn't...
That explains something that happened to me recently. I was in a rush changing belts recently, forgot to disconnect batteries and loosened the alternator. It grounded to the engine/chassis and there was smoke everywhere (engine crud?) and I saw a wire glow up like a light bulb! I almost **** my...
