A few weeks ago I posted about putting an Allison RDS2500 6 spd in my Deuce, the general concensus was that the LDT didn't pack enough power to make it worth while. I already have the Allison with the SAE3 bell housing. So I went back to the drawing board and got a Cummins 6BT 5.9 ltr from a...
Set up a storage drum and let the water/antifreeze settle. Then syphon off the bottom until you start to get oil. Take the antifreeze/water mix you just took out to your local recycler and you're all set.
A whole bunch of years ago in Gainesville Fl an arsonist was trying to kill fire fighters by putting tanks of phosgene gas and freon which when burns turns into phosgene gas in house and church fires. I have a few friends that are still suffering from the effects of those fires.
I am using 83282 in my Deuce and she runs fine. 83282 does have the flame resistant additives but mixed about 25 WMO and 25 Deisel/JP8. She runs great. So good infact that I am also using the same mix in my 92 F350 with a 7.3 IDI. In the morning it takes a little longer on the starter to get it...
The willies MB series flat fenders are stable for thier size. I have rolled an early Bronco a few times because I was being dumb and I knew I could make it up that rock wall. So if you are worried about rolling it over get a good cage made and then it doesn't matter. Clean out yuor drawers after...
Reliability is about on par with all the other trucks in my driveway/yard. As long as they are not mad at me they all work. Once in a while something will piss a truck off and she just stops. After a few days of applying liberal amounts of attention she'll fire up and run again. My personal...
Welcome aboard. Glad you're there and not me. Uncle sam has been fairly nice to me and kept me fairly warm the last few years. I'm stations in So-Cal. I've learned a lot and spent a lot due to this site. But it has all been good.
I really like the look of the rig. He took some time to mod it but probably found something to meet his needs better. I have a spare deuce I am debating bobbing, maybe I'll just make a shorty. rofl
I have a 40 Gallon tank from a Dodge tug I am stripping down. I want to install it in the bed of my bobbed deuce as an aux tank. Has anyone put a second tank in a deuce and if so what am I getting myself into as far as plumbing goes. Thanks.
I am picking up a set of Un-Cut HEMMT wheels on Mon and want some advice from the GURU's around here. I have access to a water jet machine and have a new set of centers being made right now. What I need to know is. Where do I cut on the stock HEMMT wheels to remove the old bolt pattern. Also...
I have already spoken with you about the awesome stuff you make. I want a Dash Cluster, and a front axle engaement panel. Can you put custom lettering on the Front axle panel.
She doesn't mind all the trucks, ATVs, Dirt Bikes, or Guns. But when I try to explain to her how they all tie in together she just gives me the look, Like I have a third eyeball in the center of my forhead.:cookoo: Where did you find that panel? I'd like to replace my stock lever operated one...
What did you replace the light switch with. It looks like it's all push button. Thanks for making me drool and drive my wife nuts with all my new ideas I want to do.
I was pushing through 3 foot of snow a couple of weekends ago pulling an F250 4x4 behind me. This was on dirt roads through the Tehachapi mountains. He is running new 35" MT's too. He just couldn't get through so I tugged him along. It was great.
Try a ford starter solenoid. Get one that sits on the firewall. I've used them in the past to bypass bad solenoids for a temp repair. I think napa might carry one for 24volt.
Harbor Freight has blue and red 12 LED strips for 8 bucks. They say 12Volt on them. I was under the impresion that LED's could work 12 or 24 volt. Does anyone know if they will work in the Deuce. Thanks.
