I would get a boost gauge asap. if your going to push it till you see black smoke I'd suggest looking for a new motor right now. That means you've out run the turbo ability to keep enough air in the motor to keep it clean. At that point your prob looking at 30+psi or more and I doubt that...
His information seems to be a bit off. The tires will not make the eng or trans or transfer turn 1rpm faster, they will in fact turn the same rpm as they do now, thats the way you get more MPH without any extra rpm.
As far as more wear on the trans, maybe 1st gets a tad more strain but not...
take the cover off, the rod moving means nothing.
don't waste time bleeding the injectors, soon as the HH puts fuel to them you will have a running engine.
Good luck, that guy out there is a real SOB. I hated dealing with him.
I got his number form tim and called 3 times before my pickups on the day of and he still was surprised that I drove into his yard without permission.
Good luck, I've been on the hunt for a long time, story is you can use the same starter as the NHC250 but you have to turn the snout around 180 deg.
I have bolted one up to my 8.3 and it fits like that and does work.
might be the TCC is lockiong up on you. R&R fluid with the proper allision fluid and not the milspec motor oil.
also replace the filter while you are there.
I honestly use mine as my DD, but my commute is all back roads and is 15 miles so it's not bad. if I have to go more than 30 miles I won't take it, it's too loud and too slow.
