    CUCV Battery Recommendations

Groupe 31 is the way to go. Any brand would be just fine. They are a used in many of the over the road trucks and are very dependable. I used "off the shelf" NAPA brand for my ride, and they have been in my M1009 since 2013 and still going strong. Expect to pay about $150 each and I strongly...

Rick, Now if I can talk you into a road trip you can come up and reorganize my basement workshop. I'm so ashamed, it hasn't been done in over ten years.

Sorry for your pain. That nice, bright diff cover is not as shiny as when you first "eyed it" now is it.

It must be that ROYAL PURPLE you used is so slippery that the gears are flying out and rubbing the back of the cover. There goes your MPGs.:(

    Keeping a M1009 alive

The injector lines have been known to crack at the pump connection from overtightening. They may also crack from vibration if the lines are not properly supported or seated in the clamps on the valve covers. I had fuel leaks dripping in the valley as you do. When I inspected closely, I found a...

    Cucv seat

If you have the space, I would keep it with the 1009 in case the next owner "if there is one" wants it to be original. If not, you can always "pay it forward" or sell it to the members here on this site.

Get that thing to pass inspection and you can take it for its maiden road trip to Cooperstown and see the hall of famed inductees this Sunday. Make sure you pack your mattress because all the motels and hotels are all booked up. I heard that security has been increased this year and they will...
