under $30k for tracked armor that isn't a wreck AND looks nice is not going to happen for you unless you have the sort of luck that wins lotteries (in which case cost wouldn't matter).
With some luck you can find a nice vehicle for $30k and you are in a pretty good spot for shipping so you could...
Well, since you mentioned the M113 as your starting point I'm assuming you are open to fully tracked armor.
As has been mentioned, you left a lot out about intended uses: miles driven, road use, protection wanted, etc. but here goes a start:
I like the British stuff since it's pretty well made...
Well, there is finally one more just south of the bay area so at least four Scorpions then. How many other variants I wonder?
Any info on the SF bay one?
I wound up with a Belgian Scimitar that had been made into a Scorpion but needs total rebuild plus ammo racks for 76mm (or a Rarden, heh)...
Hmm, interesting...
Super available and lots of parts support, manifolds on the correct side.
Not remotely as indestructable as the Ford motor though.
Worth putting a tape measure on for sure!
So, has anybody actually done a Ford 300 swap and have tales to tell or pictures to show?
The Jag motor in my Scorpion is not rebuildable and from what I've read about them vs. the big-6 Ford I think this would be really neat to try.
Obviously the oil pan will be custom, no problem there...
I bought from a broker who had good experience selling and shipping to the US, used Mike and the broker he recommended who had much experience with armor imports. I did do the form-6 by myself but that was the fastest (just over 3 weeks) and easiest part. I had the gun demilled to BOTH ATF and...
Expect it to take a long time.
I bought my vehicles last July and am still waiting for delivery. Most of that was the seller and I kept buying little things to add but a month for the form-6 and a similar amount of time for the export docs from the UK (I'm told that is unusual). Then an extra...
Gearvendors overdrive for the win, I've had on my 6.9IDI powered ford forever and can't tell you how much I enjoy it.
Not the cheapest solution but you can often find used units and even if the tailshaft adapter is wrong you can buy one of those separately. Yes, it's not the cheapest solution...
Rules forbid me from telling you if there was an auction site with a non-rusty 1967 Kaiser Jeep 1 1/4 ton M725 for sale for $3500 right now. I like the Dodge product a bit better but I think the Jeep is a little larger inside and some think they more comfortable to drive.
I don't think there...
Regarding the Quigly vans:
I know what you mean about the lack of space, the highbody conversion makes it barely big enough for the job but with that kind of fuel consumption I might almost as well buy a deuce so the cost/benefit on it that way is lousy but I didn't want something that was going...
Well, I haven't done the conversion myself but a quick search yields:
http://www.mseriesrebuild.com/ this guy seems like a good go-to but not sure about rates.

So, it seems to me this thread is mostly a bunch of dudes speculating about what vehicle a woman needs. I thought I'd do something different and check with some females I know about what is important to them. Obviously the OPs daughter is quite remarkable but based on the input of some not so...
I'm going to throw in a vote for a Unimog or Pinzgaur here.
Harder to get parts for but much newer, more capable, and more space. Get the 6x6 hardtop Pinz. and you have most of the offroad capability of a deuce for much less bulk. A Stewart & Stevenson or DAF might be a good choice as well...
Not too far from me there is a nice looking (in pics anyway) Cadillac Deuce.
It's smaller than what I really want/need (5-ton) but pretty and the price seems right.
I have questions...
Just how rare are these?
Since the transmission is special, does it go bad and if so, what then?
How are they...
MRE heater...
Lifted from a site in another country but I thought since it was a use I'd never considered

As you are not actually importing a live gun (unless you are a class 3 FFL) you don't have to list it, though as B3.3T mentioned even a deactivated MG is pretty much out as well. From the UK they have pretty much banned export of the smoke launchers as well. You will get some further...
I went on a tour of Zero electric motorcycles and they had bikes for some police forces in other countries and some blacked-out IR headlight OD bikes for "various government contracts", pretty snazzy stuff but I do with they had better service on past products.
I've had fantasies of converting a 5-ton to a flatbed and just parking my CVR(T) on the back but your way looks less scary.
Very nice, add the Ferret and carrier and it gives a new meaning to "the British invasion" :-)
Are those original smoke projectors or replicas?
thanks for sharing,
