    Mep-004 making no electric

    One regulator for the set.

    Mep-004 making no electric

On the right side of the set, int the front compartment there is a terminal board, (only 2pairs) this is the connection for the field windings. check voltage here while you have a helper hold the switch to start.

    Mep-004 making no electric

Bad practice. When they are producing power and the engine is at idle it puts alot of undue strain on the voltage regulator. This will eventually damage it. Its always best to avoid idling

    Mep-004 making no electric

when you start the set hold the switch to start for several seconds and see if that gives you any power (these have an electric flash circuit and is a common mistake when starting) also make sure you have some throttle, DO NOT idle these sets. Further troubleshooting to follow once you try...

    Breaker help

I havnt worked on this specific breaker, but other large breakers (especially ones that are shunt trip capable) have a mechanical trip catch, sometimes these can get stuck ant it prevents the breaker from closing. Does it trip immediately after moving the handle to close?

Soft start on 3/4 hp water pump

Amprobe with a min max function is your friend. In the loosest mathmatical sense your inrush spike shouldn't be higher than 9 amps, But theres alot of unknowns there. Softstart is the way I would go.

Mep-802a. Any reason not to drive ground rod?

If you have it connected to the house you are grounded. Depending on local codes you may not want another rod. For example : if you drive a rod at the generator that rod becomes part of the grounding network, I have had municipalities get bitey over this because now it needs to be able to...

    Power Converter Question

runable but not recommended. for future reference P/I*V. In your case 55*13= 715watt. this leaves 215 watts for the tractor and tractor accessories IF you run full load. Rule of thumb for continuous is 80%.

How close do you have to "balance" the load on MEP generators in 240v mode?

A simple warning about mounting meters on a panel cover or deadfront. Panel covers are designed to withstand a set amount of blast force, (the pressure created in the worst case situation if the mains were to have an arcflash/arcblast incident) while the odds of it happening are very slim...

Main breaker CB1 on 002a/003a wiring & diagram.

The 16 awg wires I believe are the trip wires. IIRC they take a signal from the CTs and trip the breaker

    Craig tulls drawing (003A)

Without scouring the diagrams, There should be enough existing wiring to accomplish that. really youll be replacing 1 gauge feed with another (freeing up a few in the process). Sounds like a solid plan, just make sure you dont cut out anything on the fuel/engine control
