ROLL CALL: "West Texas Detachment" Identify Yourselves, Please.

Nah, this was a free local pickup only deal. I had to go get her after interning for a year. The first time I drove out there, I swore I'd never to it again. Longest most boring drive I'd ever done. So of course when we got married, part of the deal was we had to come visit often, so now I've...

Official 2016 Ga. Military Vehicle Rally info thread. Oct. 19-23, 2016

My brother and I are thinking about flying in from out West on the cheap and sleeping in the dirt, first Rally. Recommendations/ideas/free rides from the airport? :-D Here we are with our dad a few years ago...it's in our blood.

can a deuce ever be very reliable?

I wanted a deuce since I was a little kid. When I finally got one, I worked on it nonstop til I had it on the road. Once I had it on the road, I drove it everywhere, put 1000 miles on it in a few months. There's nothing like owning/driving a deuce. No other vehicle I've had come close. I love it...

    Got another Deuce! ('70)

I'm on here rummaging around trying to find a link I posted with good info, exploded views etc. for the injection pumps. I saw a post by Jeepsinker elsewhere about the smoke cam adjustment and want to see the cutaway/exploded view. Now where did I post that...?

    California members

I talked to Ray on the phone and then met him at Those Military Guys around a year ago. Really cool guy but then I never could get ahold of him again. I have had multiple people use and recommend California Registration in El Cajon. They have a reputation for handling the "hard" stuff easily...

Anyone interested in heavier duty hydraulic head button retaining clips?

No, keep losing track of the project. I need a sample to go off of and then I'll get them made.

Total brake failure during a panic stop

Shutting off or restricting the intake or exhaust will take the place of the throttle plate.

Total brake failure during a panic stop

Brake lines and wheel cylinders rust out from the inside if water, even condensation gets in the system. I think the hydraulic system is supposed to be flushed annually...? Seals and gaskets fail inside wheel cylinders, etc. brake fluid is supposed to preserve them. Everyone preaches brake...

Total brake failure during a panic stop

I think a lot of it is time and some wear. These trucks are old, they sit a lot. Seals dry up and metal rusts.
