I live in Texas and as long as you are moving opening the front windshield one click works fine. It can be 100 out side and still be ok even with high humidity. I haven't reached the point where I felt I would be better off with the windows closed and AC on - if I had it. Also if you are taking...
If you keep them aired up all the way it will drastically improve your mileage. I would recommend reading the tire and inflating then to the rated pressure on the tire for the fronts and inflate the rears to 5psi less. The tire specs have changed some since the 55psi tag was placed on the dash...
What is the reading at idle?
Does the voltmeter decide whether it is reading ac or dc on its own?
When the diodes go out it will cause the alternator to put out AC instead of DC. The diodes usually go out when you run the engine without a battery. If you jumpstart it and don't turn the main...
LED bulbs are the way to go. Any other way is going to make the bulbs to dim or burn out. A few LEDs only work on 12v just make sure you get the ones that work with 12-24v and you should be good.
I am not sure about the brakes...
I need to get a m129a1 home from GL. It is less than 10 miles total. I am in the process of geting a 5ton tractor. The EUC for the trailer cleared in about 2 working days??? Does any one have a tractor near Ft Sam Houston in San Antonio TX?
If it doesn't have a title you will have problems. Sometimes they won't let you get a title even if you have a sf97 in someone else's name. It is suposed to vary by state but with a military vehicle all bets are off without a clear in state title.
The leading cause of failure on big truck tires is dry rot that comes from the inside of the tire especially between the belts and the tread layers. You can't tell from looking at the outside of the tire. Also water seeps into the rubber from the inside where all the pressure is. This is why...
Glad you got it going.
You might think about getting a air hose for airing up your tires that can connect to your glad-hands on the back of the truck. Next time it seems to run out of fuel you can use it to pressurize the fuel tanks. This will cause a bad hose to leak and help prime your filters.
Oh yeah on the lockers, If you are planning to drive on asphalt covered with ice and snow I would not get a locker. If I did get a locker I would put it in front and drive with axle disengaged as long as I was on asphalt. When a locker spins on ice you will end up in a ditch. Hopefully with a...
I wouldn't plan on running a multifuel over 2000 rpm for any extended time. The trucks have "max speed 35" painted on the dash for a reason. I would not drive an m35 I plan on keeping over 45 - 50 mph on the freeway. Most of the people saying to run them at their redline have the resources to...
I would preview the truck for sure. The last few I bought needed more bodywork than I thought. The GL pictures somehow missed the rust holes.
I was picking up a trailer 2 weeks ago and took the opportunity to look over some of the trucks that are going to be up soon. The clean ones with the best...
A tow chain is a very bad idea. A strap would be better but is still a bad idea. I would go with the batteries and a good set of jumper cables. Most of the time you can run one set of jumper cables to each battery and they will start if they are going to start.
Be sure to check the brakes and...
To bleed the air in a multifuel all you have to do is turn the main power switch on. Push the fuel cutoff lever in all the way. Let it sit with the electric in tank pump running and the engine not being cranked while you go under the hood and check the filters for leaks. While you are at it, it...
Once a multifuel always a multifuel. All the FDC does is help the engine give consistent performance when different fuels are used based on their density. The stuff that makes a multifuel able to burn different fuels aren’t taken out or bypassed. The only real difference is that when the FDC is...
I have run an A2 for over a year with no fan. It helps a lot on the freeway. I don't drive in traffic very often. The airflow at 20mph and up is enough to keep it at normal operating temps. I would not try it in the desert in the summer but the weather we are having now it would be fine to drive...
I am not sure what kind of LEDs you got but some have the LED on the top and others have the LED part on the sides. Try to get the dash light LEDs that have the LEDs that point in the right direction they will work a lot better.
You may have a 1156 in a 1157 socket somewhere on the truck. This...
