I am a lawyer not a body man. I find Northern Tool to be my best pal in working on the M35 and M135.
This week I bought a hydraulic ram kit for $109. Great for bending metal into place. Incredibly cheap for the work it will do. learn as you work. :D
I have the convoy lights from TNJ Murray. I also have some very fuzzy pics of blue print instructions.
The convoy lights have a long wiring loom with two + Packard connector ends for the lights, two - wire end loops for the grounds and a long extension to go into the cab with one male Packard...
I have been doing some crazy things of late. I have some 20 ton jacks lying about and some wood that is largely useless left overs. So, why not put the wood to some use.
I have found by experimenting that using a hydraulic jack to stress metal with the wood as a ram extension and using a...
I have just finished the second M35 window gasket of my brief career.
First, M135 windshields are different, much different. My post on that project included information about using a one inch putty knife and inserting the replacement from the backside of the window frame.
The M35 was far...
I got some convoy lights from TNJ Murray last year. No instructions.
I got some pics of the instructions, pics of blue prints are not easy to read! And finally got around to doing the job.
It took a while to understand the light mounting on the poles but I got thru that.
Then came the...
I began work on the M135 this Winter. It began in rough shape.
I put on a hardtop, new tires and painted some. I go back to work on it now with the cooling of the temps here.
I am picking up a M35A2C on Wednesday at Hooks, TX.
It is missing the air cleaner container bottom part that holds the filter. The top mount is complete and present.
Does anyone have one to spare?
Your posts on electrical glitches and fixes are wonderful.
My latest deuce was loaded with them. I started with an amputated trailer socket. Then worked over the lights, bad light switch. Turn signals were defective grounds. I actually got the the last bolt, in frustration, before they...
I was at hooks looking at my latest M35a2C a week or so ago.
I saw a world of HMMWV tires for auction. Many appeared virtually new and had 12 bolt rims.
If you need the tires and rims, they are there in abundance.
I am no genius about the wiring of the M35 but Bjorn got me into this stuff.
It kind of beats practicing law, anyway.
My new M35 has wiring issues. I fixed the grounds, rewired the trailer pig tail, changed the light switch and all that.
I got to working on the horn, fixed the button and...
I have found having a 20 ton hydraulic jack and a large rubber mallet quite handy.
I got the jack at Northern Tool for $20 and the mallet for $5.
I have been placing the jack between the front tire and the front of the fender with a small piece of 2x4 on the piston. This will straighten a...
I have some kind of horn wire tube obstruction on my M35. I pulled the old wire easily. There seems to be something stopping the passage of the new wire.
I have run extremely heavy rod from the top and from the bottom. It appears the obstruction is around 8 inches from the bottom.
Any ideas?
Great GL employee. Knowledgeable, friendly and very likable are his worst qualities. He is that good! If you have a pick up at RRAD, ask for him. Great guy.
