The ones I saw, the guy cut the torque rods, added in sections of donor rods I think, and welded round bar overlapping the splice in the "grooves" on either side of the rods.

lds wastegate turbo on an M35

Anyone ever try a stiffer spring in the wastegate?

    deuce project

I have a pic I saved of a guy that cut and lengthened his links. I wouldn't go larger than 395. You'll break axleshafts.

Where's this check valve? I don't remember seeing one.

    Upgrades from m35a1 to m35a2

Agree, but CA is long/tall, 8 hr drive. But I suppose we could meet halfway.

What did you do to your deuce this week?

I drove a few hours thru CA with just my donor bed on the trailer and the cab sitting in it...still got smiles, waves, and questions.

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Recovered a transmission - 3053A with winch PTO. First time removing a deuce trans. I looked at one of my trucks beforehand and picked out a selection of appropriate tools and we headed out. Ended up being a bit of a job. Picked the trans that felt the best, popped the floorpan and top cover...

So is it an old gasser or updated to A2? 11.00-20s.

    Upgrades from m35a1 to m35a2

I would go to an internally regulated alternator, yes. Maybe something more modern, say from Wolverine. I'd also look for a turbo and install boost and pyrometer gauges...but if you are happy with the power, as-is is simpler. Also, the exhaust as-is is going to be much quieter in the cab...

m35a2 runs rough at startup. Need input

I think it's once the air bleeds out...I hope my connection just needs cleaned and or tightened, and is not a cracked line.

    M35 A2 Tankers

Forgot you were FD. So, keep eyes open for FD auctions, eh?

m35a2 runs rough at startup. Need input

'70 in my yard is like that...has a leak on the outlet of the primary fuel filter. If I let the lift pump run extra long, it starts and runs better, probably because the leak lets air into the lines when it's off. Try cracking the bleeder, I bet you get air. Air bubbles feeding into the IP...

    M48?

Searched all over the house for my SCUSMV and wifey finally remembered it was in iBook form on the iPad. Duh.

    M48?

Found another pic. Guy would probably sell, and has another similar gasser minus bed and a couple other little things.

    M48?

Yes, it's been stretched. I can't remember, frustrated because I can't find Doyle's Standard Catalog. I was thinking the 275 was the later A2 version and 48 was the early gasser. But now that you say it and I think about it, seems they were around the same era. Didn't you have a nice tractor a...

    M48?

M48? No - gas M275. Can't find my book, did the 48s have the long tank? It appears so. '51 REO.

    Greetings from Northern California

How do you figure? Data plate looks original, not like an update plate - they usually are kind of sloppy and not all filled out. Big gauge panel. The number on the frame would tell for sure. Almost certainly a USMC truck. Paperclips cut off the front bumper and gussets welded to the tie downs...
