What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

Well, what I did this week was recharge the batteries. All of the work I did on Saturday, and I turned off the lights, then forgot the Master. UGHH. NOCO battery charger to the rescue. I did notice that I had some melted metal near several of the posts. YIKES! Turns out that lead and the...

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

I got my engine shields off take off M939's last year from BFR Metals in Salina. Hit up Glen, don't know what he has left, it's sort of a pick it yourself salvage place, he won't normally ship. He's good people.

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

Got a bunch of body and trim pieces done yesterday. Replaced two more tan mudflats with nonpainted, kinda fixed the seat latch on my replacement battery box (it latches now from being bent sometime in its life, but it's still too bent I think, and can't get it) replaced both taillights with...

M939 CTIS Reprogram, Anybody Done It?

Well, I think it's time to dive back into this. I've read a lot of people recently disconnecting CTIS because it's too complex or "buggy". I think it's because we don't have cool diagnostics to help them understand what is going on. SO, I am going to go down this road for all of you CTIS fans...

M936A2 wrecker 90psi CTIS tire pressure modification

At least for the non wreckers, just the ECU is needed. The others run 70 PSI with the upgraded ECU. Works flawlessly on my M925a2.

Won't fire in neutral position on the shifter (M-939 Series 5-Ton)

Won't fire in neutral position on the shifter Troubleshooting procedure 088 in the field maintenance. It starts sort of mid stream if you think it's the neutral safety...although might be worth it to start and read the whole procedure to be sure you don't miss anything...

Won't fire in neutral position on the shifter (M-939 Series 5-Ton)

Sorry to hear about the hassles, both to you and the 5 ton. I've never had the issue on my truck, but sounds like a classic neutral safety switch. I had this issue in my Galaxie 500. WP 366 in the field maintenance TM. Check the continuity of that guy. Feels like it..

Questions with rear tire air valve - broke!

Count me as the third to enjoy my CTIS, I even run it at the upgraded 70 on highway. It's a multi part, yet simple concept. Stay with it, if things really get bad, just disconnect the ECU. If things leak then you probably needed to fix them anyway..

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

Count me as a CTIS liker. Only one truck, and it doesn't go off roading much, and I have no real need for a push button air inflation system, but I still like it, for me, it's kinda what makes the 939A2's cool. It's not as complex as most would think, but I could see the frustration if you...

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

Got a pict? I know what I think the look like (like the HEMTT), but love to see it on an 939, the wife is in the 5th percentile (it's our running joke when the MKT TM said that) and need a better leg up.

Air pressure light and alarm won't turn off

It's the pressure switch(s) or a bad ground. The TM has a thorough testing procedure to isolate it. I have a bunch of those fail safe if you need it, all are take offs. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

What have you done to your MKT this week???

Yup, whole weekend (Sat through Monday) 2 Dinners, 2 lunches, 2 breakfasts... We even used the MWMULES RAK30 to make steel cut oats off the 24v slave port, and it worked pretty good. SLOW, but good. It kept cycling on and off, which I assume was done so it wouldn't get that hot that quick...

What have you done to your MKT this week???

I got the trailer temp registered barely in time after a failed wait from GP for the SF97 (boo on that one), the DMV got me a temp pass, first county said no, the other said yes. I really wanted to be legal on the road. My MKT didn't come with lights, so I got this one at Home Depot. They...

What have you done to your MKT this week???

Wow, i guess that's why I needed those Picts. I don't have any of those shelves! I might have the top, but it looks like a insert holder, but bet will work the same. They might be in the MKT and I overlooked it. Are they stowed some place special? Too late for this trip, but does anyone...

What have you done to your MKT this week???

Thanks Jason, I read about it, but I'm a visual guy. I think I am missing the chains, but will probably be able to get something worked out. Wife is a baker so need to get this one working. Mkcoen, great idea on the probe, I have a laser one, but that's not really going to work on a closed...

What have you done to your MKT this week???

We are taking the big guy and the MKT on a short / close to home base camping trip to ensure we trial run a longer trip. We bought a futon off Craigslist to have in the back, and will be taking the RAK30 out for a test run as well. My question is who has used the ovens for baking? The double...

    torque rod nut

Probably not Napa, those slotted nuts are huge, and also called castle nuts. The military part number is 7979183 if you can have them search. I bet expedited shipping would get you those overnight. Plenty of sources on a Google search, or Mikes offer seems to be the best choice. Sent from...

Behr Paint Jobs- Show me your MV's

That HMMWV looks wonderful, makes me want to check GP to see what's out there. The tan disease is just as bad as the green.

    torque rod nut

I used a box wrench on the castle nut. Popped right off at the salvage yard, but mine were too tough to get off and had to take it to a heavy truck place. The biggest bitch for me and others was the cotter pin. Do not use the truck with a dog bone acting up. Totally unsafe. Change it out...
