What have you done to your MKT this week???

Oh boy. Those things are odd. Here's what I found when I measured: RF - 27/32 LF - 57/64 LR - 53/64 RR - 27/32 So I ordered a 15/16 socket - 4 PT and will probably adjust all of the heads up to that. More when the stuff comes in.

What have you done to your MKT this week???

Hmm. I'll go all scientific and get out the calipers. That will solve this riddle for me. I'll post picts, specs (it seems for the MKT-99), and solution. Hopefully this weekend..

What have you done to your MKT this week???

Was thinking of that, but don't have a welder (the horror!).. EDIT: Maybe I'm looking at this the wrong way, now I have a reason to buy a welder.

What have you done to your MKT this week???

Does anyone know a good socket to buy to get those jacks down with the the square head? Those "tools" to raise and lower them clang on the sides and generally tear up the sides. Someone said they are just 1" tubing compatible, so this should be easy, but I just can't find them.

What have you done to your MKT this week???

Pulled it out, set it up and cleaned all the Wright Pat dirt out of it. Yuck. Found my crossway cable (Yeaaa!) and installed it. Turned on 4 burners and watched them power up. Only grabbed 3 gallons of diesel, so was only able to fire up 2 burners. Found a scepter spout in the trailer so my...

What have you done to your MKT this week???

Emailed the transportation broker about the mishaps, and damage to the covers from the crappy "tarp service". The brand new travel covers now have three tears in them. What a shame, and of course preventable had the transportation company actually have people who care. Suggestions on the...

    Pintle Setup on CartCaddy.

Closing this off. I got a pintle and permission to drill the mounting plate. Four bolts, and I'm good. The thing is great and handles the trailer with ease. Great way to move it around in its garage without the big guy and a closed space full of diesel fumes. It also allows me to move it...

What have you done to your MKT this week???

Light gauge steel wool will brighten that up, also rubbing alcohol might help. Do note that the steel wool is basically taking off some aluminum, get the 0000 pad to keep it to a minimum. I think since it oxidized you'll need to basically scour it away.

What have you done to your MKT this week???

After perusing several old MKT threads, I also don't have the crossover cable (the one that goes under the floor) I did buy an extension but I think this is too long, anyone have one of those?

What have you done to your MKT this week???

Well, I got it off the trailer, then while getting off the rollback, it almost tipped over! I jumped on the bed and held the Lunette down, then we got it back under control. It was almost a disaster. The trailer is gorgeous, it's brand new, everything is unused except the ovens, which are a...

What have you done to your MKT this week???

Ok peeps, the broker blew this one again. NO ramps on the stepback.. So I need to see if you guys think it's alright to have a rollback winch it off, then tie it down, then roll it back to the ground? Is there an issues winching with the wheel down? Will it take it? A boom put it on there...

What have you done to your MKT this week???

I have a "tarp service" going onto it before the highway trip, I was promised pictures of it.. We'll see. Specified it on bid and two phone calls to the broker..

What have you done to your MKT this week???

Nervously watched by text them loading my MKT on a stepbed trailer. Comedy of errors with the pickup and the broker, which I ended up stepping in to get coordinated and back on track. After asking for a truck with a pintle, a wrecker showed up with a boom. They had the hoisting done odd and...

Control arm slid off mount... (!!!) Dog bone

The roadside was a bitch, with lots of law enforcement attention. I did have several good Samaritans help and a patient wife. Scary stuff when it happens though. If you can find the end it might be cheaper to buy the whole dogbone, none to be had when I looked. I do still see NOS dogbones...

Control arm slid off mount... (!!!) Dog bone

I had the same thing happen. This sort of sucked for me. Ended up paying $1400 replacing two. I got them off at a salvage yard in 20 min, but couldn't do this on my own truck. I have a giant bag of NOS cotter pins. Let me know if I can help. Don't buy them for $10 a piece. Torque Rod...

    Pintle Setup on CartCaddy.

That would be the no cost version! I will use that in a pinch, just didn't know how stable that would be. I also found a ball to lunette adapter but it was only rated for 3500 Lbs. All good workable options, thanks guys.

    Pintle Setup on CartCaddy.

The bolt pattern on the caddy is 3 inches vertically. (I see what you said gringeltaube, it was about the mounting plate, which might be every inch). I can't hack that one up, it's not mine. These things are awesome, I've seen them in use on a tractor trailer. It wasn't 50,000, but was...

    Pintle Setup on CartCaddy.

Countersink. Hmm, what thickness stock would you use then? I was going to go 1/2, but normal bolts are almost that thick, so I would worry about the meat that I would have left. Welding would alleviate that. But I haven't welded in 25 years... I think if it turns out to be too expensive...

    Pintle Setup on CartCaddy.

OK. Got a question. I have access to a Cart Caddy HD that has a ball hitch. I will be pulling the MKT trailer around, so looking to install a Pintle on it. The bolt pattern is 3.38 (3 3/8 )x 3.00. The only pintle mounts I can find (so far) is 3.38 X 1.75 or something else. Question is I...
