8-10 hour work days still. Worse part was I was working until 10 or 11 each night and both weekend days to get everything on for Gilbert. This week I am putting all the tools back in the shop and out of the maintenance tent so I can start the process all over again. The list of modifications...
I had the choice to have it made from steel or aluminum. Since they have a lot of aluminum stocked at their shop that was the route they decided to take for me. My original design in CAD had it being milled from a solid peice of aluminum. They were able to make it out of Sheet Aluminum which...
I ordered a 3.5 mm plug with bare ends from Altex Computers and Electronics for $1.99. Part Number is 70-3536. I took the white and red wire lead andput it under one of the audio input terminals in the front of the amp and then put the silver ground wire under the other audio input terminal in...
I will see what I can do to get a price for a 3-piece kit.
I used the original aluminum ring on the underside of the top that came on the Original Ring Mount Hard Top I purchased. You would at least need these 3 peices to start the kit.
Again, give me a few days and we'll see what price...
Here is the link to my post on the Hard Top if your interested.

I bought an original one, but decided to make upgrades to Uncle Sam's original design.
Well, I thought I would post some upgrades I installed to make the road trip to Gilbert a little more enjoyable... if you can say that about a 183 mile road trip in a military vehicle.
1) VIC-1 Radio Setup
2) 24v High/Low Fans (God Sent at Low Speeds)
3) Electric Wipers (for the pooring rain...
Here are a few more pictures of the Hard Top Cover.
I think the cost of the labor alone to have these re-produced for re-sale would scare most people off. Let alone the cost of the material involved plus the fact that you still will have to supply your own nuts, bolts, and gasket to finish...
Thought I would post some pictures of the Ring Mount, Hard Top, Ring Cover, M2 w/ Cover etc. from the Gilbert Show.
I had a friend pull off a big favor at his fabrication shop and re-make the parts to the Ring Mount Hard top out of Aluminum. The old standing lip was made of fiberglass that...
Well, I attached a few pictures of our "home away from home" from Thursday-Saturday. Without the Maintenance Tent it would have been a really wet event for sure.
As you can see in the other pictures it was Muddy on our end of the field and we definitly took our turns pulling truck, vans and...
I have the following for sale and can bring to Gilbert:
- M2001A1 Trailer Excellent Shape w/ fenders
- Used M35A2 Hard Top
- Used M35A2 Windshield Frame w/ Wipers
I have pictures of the barrel clamp coming from Joe Trap. As soon as I get them I will post them. I have everything mounted on my ring mount as well, but will be fabricating a barrel clamp for mine too. If it ever stops raining here in Maryland I'll get pictures postred of my truck on here as...
I have installed the cab reinforcement plate with the supplied rivets. According to the directions there is an 1/8 thick plate you are to weld on the passenger side top plate of the cab. Also it shows a metal peice to run the length of the top plate where the har tops sets.
Does anyone know...
If anyone is interested here are some things I have for sale and can bring with me to Gilbert:
M200A1 Trailer (Tan, new tires, great shape)
M105A2 Axle w/ springs and brake cylinder
I have 4 of these fans myself. I just have to find time to make bracket and mount them.
My plan was to mount them in the upper corner of the hard top behind the head of the passenger and driver. This would allow the air to blow on the back of the head and neck. I figured it would replicate...
I have a M107A2 Water Buffalo. It has a crank up landing gear and the Aluminum tank has baffeling built into it. I've pulled it apart to paint it. My intenstions where to convert it to a "Fuel Buffalo". Between having a diesel tractor and the Deuce I figured it would be nice to have fuel...
Rear PTO w/ shift Linkage... check
20,000 lbs. winch off a 5 ton truck... check
Time to pull bed and start conversion... maybe after the Gilbert Show this fall
The only real task that I see fabrication wise when using the 5 ton winch under the bed in the rear is the engage lever will need to...
