When the engine is shut down especially if it has not been idled for the suggested 5 min. turbo cool down time its going to get warm. What I mean is now you have NO coolant circulation and NO fan to move air through the radiator to cool the HOT engine, give this just a moments thought, is the...
I found a NOS one for my M925A1 for 300.00 I think I got it through Memphis Equipment. My truck did exactly the same thing as yours and 300.00 bucks out was easier than wrestling with the problem till I ended up replacing it anyway!

John good looking 404, the Swiss Army did a pretty darned good job on keeping them in very nice condition, please let us know what was involved in your conversion of the truck back to its original condition, 404s are really great trucks I had one for a few years and enjoyed it very much. A...
Good choice on the trucks AP and winches do come in handy for a LOT of things, you will need a snatch block assembly rated for your truck and less important winches are just plain very cool! Good luck in your acquisition of the 5 tonner they are very good trucks!
Karl
Welcome aboard MA from ND the M-37s are great trucks, I had a 52 and loved it, dont worry about the 5 tonner your just experiencing the NATURAL progression!

What better way to preserve a family heirloom than to sell it to somebody that has at least a chance to make it back into what it was in its better days. When you sell it make a deal with the new owner that your family name be put on it when the restoration is complete. By looking at it...
Good engine I am sure but not worth a lot I am sorry to say. I was offered one in the CAN fresh rebuild for 1200.00 and I would think the can is worth $500

JHS as you read the volumes of info from the past threads on THIS subject, dont skip over the one where one of our members was running WMO/WTF in his Deuce and got pulled over for something small, well somewhere along the way the State Trooper dipped his tank and found what was in it AND there...
Hey Texandy I have a 925A1 and had the same issue as your having, it was the main fuel line running INTO the IP, it was collapsing inside of the line, I replaced that fuel inlet line and never had another problem. A military mechanic friend told me that at time troops would run JP-8 in these...
great story on your Deuce, the truck will surprise you on this things they can climb both loaded and not but you learned of the biggest weak spot just about ALL of these trucks share, and that is weight! Your Deuce has over 6,000 pounds on the front axle alone and skinny tires with lousy tread...
Hello Lowtech maybe I got included in this somehow and was not intended to be? But if it can help anybody I have a few pieces left over when I stripped out my S-280 and if anybody can use them they are welcome to them, And if I am just causing confusion in this I apologize, but with that said...

I thought Holt when I first saw it but dont know enough about this type of vehicle to be sure. That is a very cool find, remember it needs to be saved, the only other person (besides us) who would give it a second glance would be a scrapper! Keep us posted please, that is a very neat vehicle!

Stb64 Like I said above you seem to know your stuff, I appreciate you sharing some of it with me especially the colors, I found a place in Germany where I can order stencils then paint them myself, at least now I know the correct color! Stay safe and thanks again for your assistance stb64.

Raven the battery relocation kits are nice but they are getting more expensive all the time especially a NOS one, but it includes everything needed! I agree Scar59 100% on the spin on oil filter replacement, and if you decide against it just wait till you change the oil ONCE, it will be on your...
stb64 my truck has all the red and other colored parts your describing, it is actually rather handy for helping to identify at least all the drain plugs on the tranny Diffs, etc. I Thanks you very much for you input on this subject, you are by far the most knowledgeable person I have found yet...
Good Afternoon folks, I am looking at and considering buying an Ex German Military Man Kat1 4x4 truck. The truck has 21K original miles and has the air cooled V-8 Diesel engine, all in all the truck is in very nice shape and I would like to purchase it all except for one thing, WHERE CAN I GET...
