The idea of this thread was twofold. Get the Bearing set for M1101/M1102 for me, and provide the info for others.
I made a public shopping list on Amazon that you can locate. You can go to Amazon and search for the shopping list M1101 M1102 Wheel Bearings
And you will get these 5 items. This...
Well done! Thank you for this. Hopefully, future searchers for this bit of info will find it here!
I am about to swap out my brakes for electric, and put in new seals and bearings if needed. The 1101 is such a cool trailer, I want mine to preform well, and ride level without running a 16" tall...
You accomplished quite a bit. I built a dump trailer from scratch, and was amazed at how long the entire project took. Seemed so simple and straightforward! The biggest thing I learned is that I need a welder with a higher Duty rating.
I put a marine grade disconnect on mine as well. I have back up camera and a 24> 12 v converter, and it will drain the batteries after a few weeks if I forget to shut it off. Also, it's kind of hidden, so a slight theft deterrent.
I said "almost". Everything has its limits. And if You are talking soft mud, lockers won't do you any good when you stick it to the axles.
The point is that they are incredibly capable trucks. The difference that lockers give you can be marginal or useless in any extreme situations.
Some...
Which is why nobody has done or will do this. These trucks are almost unstoppable anyway, few will consider air lockers, even fewer will do it. Let's face it, the number of guys rock crawling with 5 tons is quite small. They would be handy, but it's not as easy as installing in a Jeep. Most of...
Congratulations, I know you have been looking forward to this day for a while.
Just go drive it around and wave at everyone.
Then realize, the first investment is an air ride seat.
Congrats, welcome to the disease, I mean, club. Welcome to the club!
You don't even know what's wrong with it yet! Have it looked at, or look at it yourself.
How much money are you willing to throw at it? That's also a factor. How much you have in it, how much farther you are willing to go. If you don't have a huge budget, sell it as is, part it and walk away...
i have done it primed with rustoleum and just on bare metal, cleaned and prepped.
If i I understand correctly, the Behr has a primer in it.
So far, I can not tell any difference between the primed and unprimed. Id probably prime it if it were a large area, but, I certainly don't fret it on...
I bought my 923A2 in Idaho, just across the border From Jackson Hole WY. I shipped a seat up there and installed it before I left for the trip to TX.
Good seats are a top of the list priority. I didn't have the AC installed for the trip, but, even in July, it was nice most of the way. Utah...
Thanks Juan.
I just removed the hitch assembly. After looking at it for a few seconds, a relatively easy plan came to mind on how to lower the hitch and keep the surge brakes. Ridiculously easy plan too.
I am going to explore this option. It is not that difficult once you see how simple the...
Thanks for that. That could be very helpful. I believe these axles and bearings are very common, but that doesn't make the part number easy to find! I'm going to call etrailer. I read somewhere on the net that they were able to assist someone with bearings on a M trailer. So, let's see if they...
I'm removing the entire surge brake system and going to electric brakes on one of the 1101s. I Found the correct brakes that should fit this hub. Someone did it and posted pictures on etrailer. If not for that, I'd be searching still for brakes.
Brakes drivers side...
they are incredible machines when compared to the older, or even, the most recent DJI models, before the Mavic Pro. They knocked this one out of the park!
I see them using it on fishing shows a lot (I only care for Saltwater Experience and maybe, Into the Blue) but they use them extensively...
SD are you using a Mavic Pro? That's so cool, I gotta do that!
while using the "tracking" can you also maneuver it, like manually make it circle you or fly ahead or behind?
I gotta do more with mine. I feel guilty about how little I have used it.
In my defense, it's really hot outside, and...
:(
Dont be dissin' my ride homie!
I am sure they have had their fair share of problems, but the good ones never get noticed. Nobody ever posts "My RRAD didn't break down today! Dadgum RRAD trucks!"
Just sayin, that's all. My RRAD was done quite well.
dont worry, I don't take it personally. :)
