Has anyone tried a fan clutch on the M35? Is there one that can be adapted?
It seems to me that after 40 years of service that would have been a great item to increase power. The first that I saw on a vehicle was in the 1970's I think. I am amazed the deuce never had one.
Just putting the two types on you notice the Monroe has plastic ties to prevent it from expanding until you have it in the holes. You pull the Mil Surplus to lengthen it to fit in the holes. I think the Monroe is in constant tension, where the Mil Surplus is not.
I am not sure which, if...
I got them from eBay some time back and I forget how much. They are listed now at $62.50 per shock, but I did not pay that much as I recall. Maybe $65 for the pair.
I do not think they are as good as the Monroe gas. They maybe, but I do not know yet. In fact, neither may do more than just...
Mil Surplus. If I were to do it again I would use civy gas shocks. But, I got these and will try them out.
Probably will not make much difference anyway.
I changed the front shocks on the second deuce today. I came in and washed up for dinner.
I seemed sweaty for some reason after the shower. I looked and it was 97 degrees.
Oh, well, at least the diesel will not jell tonight.
I assume the co2 will work, just less pressure. I looked about for the nitrogen cartridges but did not look too hard. WallyWorld is just to close and cheap.
I found this site has nitrogen cartridges. https://morebeer.com/view_product/18310
But one costs more than five of the co2 at WallyWorld.
I was startled to see this thread at the top of the list this morning. We are experiencing the first signs of Fall here and the afternoon temps have cooled to the mid 90's. A great relief from the 102+ highs of last month.
I first thought that something must be happening to diesel fuel that I...
I had a decon bottle that was mostly complete and the mount already installed in my second deuce.
It did not seem right to me, however. After observing more closely some NOS bottles I realized mine did not have the propellant cartridges on the mount or bottle.
A trip to WalMart, co2...

It probably sounds stupid, but have you tried hitting it with a hammer when pressing the starter button?
Sometimes that shakes it loose. Sounded crazy to me until I tried it two years ago. The starter has worked fine since.:-D
