It's a shame I'm not closer, I'd be there with a socket set and a torch cutting off all the good parts for sale later. I'd be happy to pay scrap prices for parts that are sought after! But KS is a long way from VA. :(
That's odd, door glass is usually tempered and shouldn't shatter like that, at least not just by closing the door. Might want to check inside the door and see if there are any other reasons why the glass broke when lowered into the door, just in case.
Might be able to find a replacement door...
I haven't owned a CUCV, but with my deuces I did the same - cut blocks of wood the right size and shape and it took up the rest of the room okay. I'm sure there was a little wiggle but the top bracket made sure the batteries weren't going anywhere.
Almost looks like a smaller version of the portable light trailers that were built on M116 frames. Here's one of them that Soni H. made into a offroad trailer.
A few of my old M725 that I had from 2004-2008. Tony Casey bought it, and it's still for sale on his website in NC. Wish I finished it, but it doesn't have too much more to get done.
Custom 6x6 M715 that was built and shown off on one of the other sites. It is a true 6x6, took a lot of fabrication and modding of the stock axles to make it work, the suspension works much like a deuce does.
Yes, you're right. I didn't notice the A2 designation, except for the wheels, the trailer is still the right size for your rig. You'll need to carry a spare tire for the trailer, though, since they do not interchange.
I know this is an ANCIENT thread, but I just saw the video of some upgrades that someone had done to this truck, post-your-ownership. Pretty awesome rig, both while you owned it and afterwards....
The IP is probably okay because you are getting fuel. The engine just bogs down when you rev it up, because it is starved for fuel supply. However, the old fuel isn't helping things. Drain the tank, replace with new fuel, and filters, and I'd bet it will run like a stuck pig.
Mmmmmm....pig roast.....
Looks like you guys had a good time as well! Even when you can't afford to go to a rally, you go to a rally! Just smaller... [thumbzup]
I'd guess filters. However, one of my deuces I bought had a crimped front fuel line, the one that goes from the primary filter under the radiator to the left side of the engine to the secondaries. The copper line had a big crunch in it, maybe from a forklift, who knows. I just cut it out and...
