    85' M1009 build thread

I think the onboard air system is an awesome upgrade - sure to come in handy on the trail, especially for airing up/down the tire pressure, or running air tools. Ever think about an under-hood welder for trail repairs? A lot of offroaders have installed them...

Trying to get two m220's running after a long rest

If the clutch plate is rusted to the flywheel, a long crowbar can fix that, at least temporarily. I remember a Four Wheeler article from years back when they bought a old flat-fender jeep that was sitting for 30 years, and they opened the clutch inspection plate, inserted crowbar and pried like...

    Fresh Line-X in the M1009

That gives me an idea for my next MV. I like the LINE-X, thought it only came in black. Looks great!

    Another M146 Build

Nice save! Do a search on thread started by ArmyMan30Years+, he died a few years back, but he had a great thread on taking a M200 or M105 trailer and making a dolly trailer out of it.

    Another M886!

The 880s are tough trucks. They will not be able to pass a gas station without tanking up, though. 8mpg was pretty crappy, but par for the course in mid 1970s. I'd love a diesel in an M880. That 886 is pretty sweet! Great save!

    m100 and m416 recovery

Nice saves! Once you get a 1/4 ton trailer, life will never be the same. You'll find uses for it all over the place!

    The GOER is gone

OMG!!!! Papabear, you call yourself a MV enthusiast?!? And you scrap something this rare in civilian hands? I just dropped you down several rungs on the respectability list! How many GOERS are in civilian hands? I have never heard of another one. I'm sure there are a few out there...

M262 Nike Missile Launch Control Station?

Pic from the site for those who can't see the link. Pretty cool trailer, if anything for the history associated with it. Was the control van for the launch system on the Nike missiles. I'd guess it weighs about 5 tons empty. I think a deuce could handle towing it for a short while, a 5-ton...

Bought a M416 trailer - What year could it be?

I hate those folks who buy military trailers, go to the expense and time to convert to ball hitches (which are weaker than pintle), and then WE have to go to the expense of converting it back. Pure rubbish. I would be easier to get a pintle hitch on the truck they are towing it with, and...

What trailer for a 530 fire truck

I'd pick either a M107 water tank trailer painted to match the 530 truck, or a hose reel trailer. To my knowledge, there are no military hose reel trailers, but you can find a commercial replacement and match it up well enough.

    Tank From Outter Space

BOLOS! It looks based on the M41 Walker Bulldog light tank. My best guess is a remote controlled test bed. It's a long shot, but I can't figure out anything else that makes sense with that contraption.

    M105 Too big? think again

Might have been easier to just buy a M101 or M416 trailer. Just my two cents.

    M756A2 Recovery Maine to Vermont

No.2Diesel is right! The benefit about military trucks, especially the older ones, is that the parts are simple, and can be fabbed up from stock or from other similar parts. Worse comes to worse, you can make a whole new pipeline bed. It will be a LOT of work, but where else you gonna find one?

    Bumber steps

I never liked the ones that were folding, they cost a lot of money and they looked kinda silly to me, too low to the ground. They are NOT recommended if you do any serious offroading, I've seen a few get folded left/right and bent to **** from hitting berms or rocks, with their price it just...

    Huey parts

I think it would be a cool project! But, as you might expect, you are dealing in aircraft parts. New and good used ones bring a small fortune. Finding worn out ones might be a challenge, they tend to get scrapped right away. I'm sure one or two of our members have parts for you, or know of...

    M1009 towing an M105A2 trailer..

Search is your friend - this has been covered before. Is it possible? Yes. Is it safe? No. Can you kill someone easily? Yes. What can you do? Find a friend with more truck than you have.

    RBU behind deuce?

There was also a thread about powered trailers. Same ideas, same misguided concept.
