you've got a bit of a jeep salad. The motor is from an MB. You have a MB frame tag welded on there too. The frame looks MB to me. You should try the G503.com again. If you post in the MB/GPW technical section you will get a response.

I can tell you I looked at it and it seemed to be an ok truck. i never spoke to the seller. If your interested I will have 3 trucks for sale in the near future much less than $4000

Ok until I get a new shaft can I operate this truck on the road? I can't see any reason why not but I wanted to see what you guys had to say. I have had no more binding issues. Seems to me to be just like a freewheeling hub. I do not plan on engaging the front axle. What do you think...
if you have ever used a proper tow rig you will find how inadequate the M35 is at towing a heavy load. it bogs down on small hills, impedes traffic, and is not rated at much anyway. The problem with a deuce is that although it looks like a big truck it really is not
i love the m35 but it is...
I had one. Bought it from an individual who moved from france to the US. he had bought the jeep in Vietnam and when he moved to the US he shipped it in as his personal vehicle. I had a complete book of maintenance records from Vietnam as well as all the paperwork of the Mutt being imported...
On a sierous note I have never seen a broken shaft with the crystalization. I thnk its quite odd. Kenny, I have not found the parts I need yet. Have not looked yet but I may need both the long and short shaft. I would like to understand what caused the problem.
Thanks
Chuck
The outer axle is busted. Passenger wheel spins freely and while spinning the front drive shaft turns. The dif is full of clean oil. The driver side wheel now spins freely but offcourse the drive shaft does not spin. The truck has an airshift front axle. Here is a pic of the busted half shaft.
