I added jatonka spin on adapters today in less than 10 minutes. From left to right, the kit, removing the first filter, the kit in position, torquing into place and the finished assembly.
Check for leaks and you are done! Great idea.
Your filter adapters are too easy. You need to add some kind of quirk in them to make it interesting.
I just ordered my second set. When they get here, it will take minutes to install.
Currently, the change out is much cleaner than the stock version.
I also recommend the spin on primary...
RE: quick question!!!!! I
PITA, changing filters. No kidding. We wrestle with them every time.
I just finished changing out the fuel filters. Major PITA. Look and find the 5070 gasket. Three stores netted three. Just enough. Changing the oil filters, PITA, different gaskets, might work...
This thread was incredibly helpful to me today. As some may know I bought a M35A2C in September at Hooks. I drove it the hundred and forty or so miles to the farm, filling it with diesel once, with leaking fuel.
I finally got around to fixing the leak, turned out to be the rear filter seal...
I know it is late notice, but the University of North Texas Homecoming Parade is today in Denton at 1pm. We have 11 MV's already, but if you are in the area and bored come on up, down or over.
We form up on Welch Street around 11:45
See you there.
Bjorn would be proud you checked the grounds. I was going to suggest exactly that. It is a good idea to contact Grainger and order new internal/external star washers in any case.
Thanks Bjorn for coming to our rescue on these wiring questions again. You make it look easy. I am becoming kind of a low tech expert on them myself. :D
My father was a cop in Dallas. He spent the better part of ten years working the pawn shop detail. I knew many pawn shop owners as friends of the family for years in high school and college. I had a Model A Ford. They knew I worked on it at home. I bought Snap On tools by the box...
RE: Re: Pre-oiler Pump?
I am wondering, if the purpose is to fill the oil filters before starting, why not just use jatonka's spin on filter adapters? They cost far less, are much easier to install and maintain. Mine give virtually instant oil pressure at the start up.
Just thinking out loud.
I am a lawyer not a body man. I find Northern Tool to be my best pal in working on the M35 and M135.
This week I bought a hydraulic ram kit for $109. Great for bending metal into place. Incredibly cheap for the work it will do. learn as you work. :D
